Foye Oluokun, Jacksonville Jaguars, Agree to Contract
Oluokun made a name for himself in 2021 by leading the league with 192 total tackles this year. He also accumulated two sacks, three interceptions, a forced fumble, four tackles for loss, and two sacks.
Foye spent his years in the NFL learning from former Pro-Bowl inside linebacker Deion Jones. With Jones taking a dip in production in 2020 and 2021, Oluokun showed off his skillset in the middle of the Atlanta defense. He has been able to make key plays for a struggling Falcons defense. This includes a game-saving interception to save the game against the Detriot Lions.

Oluokun had been showing flashes of what he could do since he had gotten into the league in 2018 as a sixth-round pick. He posted the fourth-most tackles by a rookie with 89 combined tackles. Those 89 tackles also were the most since 2016.
Oluokun attended Yale University for five years before being the 200th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. In Oluokun’s senior year, he had a total of 50 tackles, nine of them for loss. He also had two forced fumbles, one interception, and four pass breakups while earning second-team All-Ivy League honors.
Oluokun’s best season in college may have been his first year as a freshman. He showed his versatility by playing both middle linebacker and free safety for the Bulldogs. He accounted for 53 tackles on the season, the most by any freshman in the Ivy League that year. Foye also added a tackle for loss as well as four more pass breakups. He then earned All-Ivy League second-team honors and was the only Ivy League player to make it onto College Sports Journal’s All-Freshman team.
