Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson took a few questionable hits during Sunday’s action and, according to the latest NFL rumors, head coach John Harbaugh isn’t happy about it. In other news, Joey Bosa spoke about Derek Carr following Monday Night Football, while Sean McVay promised to get Robert Woods more involved in the offense.

NFL Rumors: Lamar Jackson, Joey Bosa, Robert Woods
Even though the game itself was a one-sided affair, the fallout from the Ravens-Broncos game has been the talk of the town. Speaking to reporters on Monday, head coach John Harbaugh believes that his quarterback gets less protection than other passers and should have received one or two roughing the passer penalties during Week 4’s action.
“All the quarterbacks should be treated the same,” Harbuagh told ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. “I don’t think any quarterback should be judged any differently in terms of how they’re protected.”
Harbaugh has a pretty strong gripe here, as Jackson hasn’t drawn a single roughing the passer penalty since December of 2019. While quarterbacks do lose some protection once out of the pocket, the fact of the matter is that most officiating crews treat Jackson more like a running back than a quarterback.
Of course, this was far from the only drama to emerge from that fateful Sunday afternoon. Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio took offense to Baltimore extending their 100-yard rushing streak with a meaningless final play, saying that Harbaugh clearly didn’t value player safety. Harbaugh struck back, saying that if Fangio cared about player safety, then he wouldn’t have been trying to throw a touchdown while trailing by 16 points with just 10 seconds left.
Joey Bosa on Derek Carr: “He Kind of Shuts Down” After Getting Hit
The Los Angeles Chargers put an end to the Raiders undefeated season during a commanding 28-14 victory on Monday Night Football. While Vegas made it interesting for a bit, the game’s outcome was never truly in doubt, largely thanks to LA’s strong defensive play.
Speaking to reporters after the game, defensive lineman Joey Bosa revealed the secret to the unit’s success. “We knew once we hit him a few times, he really gets shook. And you saw on [Covington’s] sack, he was pretty much curling into a ball before we even got there…once you get pressure on him, he kind of shuts down.”

No quarterback likes getting pressured, but it’s hard to argue with the results on this one. While Carr has taken multiple sacks in every game thus far, the four he received on Monday was a season-high. Unsurprisingly, this was also his worst game of the season, as the quarterback completed 61.8% of his passes for just 196 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
Sean McVay: Robert Woods Will Be Involved
Even with their Week 4 loss, life has been pretty good for the Los Angeles Rams. Matthew Stafford looks like a perfect fit for Sean McVay’s offense, Cooper Kupp is simply unstoppable, and Los Angeles looks like one of the top teams in football. However, there is one great player in the offense that hasn’t performed up to his potential.
Something of a forgotten man in the passing attack, wide receiver Robert Woods has recorded just 15 receptions for 172 yards and two touchdowns through the first four games of the season. Speaking to reporters on Monday, head coach Sean McVay vowed that his captain will be a larger part of the offense.
During a lengthy response regarding Woods’ role on the team, McVay said that “[w]e just need to get him some more opportunities and that starts with me.” McVay also talked about how Woods is handling the reduced role with grace, specifically calling out his blocking efforts on a pass to Van Jefferson.
