Emmanuel Sanders Signs Contract With Buffalo Bills

Wide Receiver Emmanuel Sanders is no longer a free agent after signing his new contract. Sanders spent 2020 with the New Orleans Saints.

NFL wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders signed a new contract with the Buffalo Bills. Terms of the deal are not yet known to the public. Sanders spent the 2020 season with the New Orleans Saints.

Emmanuel Niamiah Sanders was born March 17, 1987, in Bellville Texas. Sanders was drafted 82nd overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2010 NFL Entry Draft. The Steelers signed Sanders to a three-year contract worth $1.80 million. Sanders signed a one-year offer sheet from the New England Patriots; however, the Steelers matched on April 14th, 2013. The Denver Broncos signed Sanders to a three-year contract worth $15 million on March 15, 2014. Sanders signed an extension with the Broncos for three years and $33 million on September 7th, 2016. The Broncos traded Sanders and a 2020 fifth-round selection to the San Fransisco 49ers for 2020 third-round and 2020 fourth-round selections. Sanders signed with the Saints on April 6th, 2020 for two years and $16 million. The Saints released Sanders on March 10, 2021.

During the 2020-21 season in 14 games, Sanders made 61 receptions for 726 yards with five touchdowns. Additionally, Sanders rushed for 12 yards but had one fumble. Sanders was placed on the COVID-19 list for close to two weeks before being activated. In two playoff games, Sanders had eight receptions for 51 yards. The Saints would lose to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Divisional Playoffs 30-20.

During the 2019-20 season in 17 games, Sanders received 66 times for 869 yards with five touchdowns. In three playoff games, Sanders received five times for 71 yards. The 49ers would lose to the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LIV 31-20.

During the 2018-19 season in 12 games, Sanders received 71 times for 868 yards with four touchdowns. Additionally, Sanders rushed four times for 53 yards with one touchdown. Sanders suffered a torn Achilles during practice on December 5th, which ended his season.

During the 2017-18 season in 12 games, Sanders received 47 times for 555 yards with two touchdowns. Sanders suffered two different ankle injuries during this season, causing him to miss four games total.
