2020 NFL Re-Draft (Picks 17-32)

Here is the 2020 NFL Re-Draft, where we go back and have a do-over in hindsight of the rookies' play. This part includes Picks 17-32.
2020 NFL Re-Draft

Now that we have seen one season of play from the players drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, what if the NFL were to re-draft all the players in the 2020 NFL Draft? Taking a look and going through each team’s draft picks and how they panned out, we will re-draft the 2020 rookies.

(Note: Quarterbacks are more important than every other position, so although one player may be a better overall NFL player than a quarterback, quarterback is the most valuable position in football therefore he would be worth more in this re-draft.)

2020 NFL Re-Draft

17. Dallas Cowboys – Julian Blackmon, FS

Original Pick: CeeDee Lamb (taken)

Dallas’s secondary was the worst part of their team last year by far. Blackmon flew under the radar this season, but actually played very well. They fill a hole by taking a very underrated player at safety.

18. Miami Dolphins – Brandon Aiyuk, WR

Original Pick: Austin Jackson, OT

Though he was hurt a lot, Aiyuk played very well during the games he was in this year. The Miami Dolphins pair him with Devante Parker to make for a huge improvement at the receiver position.

19. Las Vegas Raiders – Jerry Jeudy, WR

Original Pick: Damon Arnette, CB

The Las Vegas Raiders realize they made a bad pick with Damon Arnette, so they take Jerry Jeudy. Jeudy is a great route runner who needs to improve his hands. With some work on the jugs machine, he can be a great receiver for them.

20. Jacksonville Jaguars – Javon Kinlaw, DT

Original Pick: K’Lavon Chaisson, DE

Chaisson was vey disappointing this season to say the least. The Jacksonville Jaguars are able to get Kinlaw, who played pretty well for the 49ers this season.

21. Philadelphia Eagles – Tee Higgins, WR

Original Pick: Jalen Reagor, WR

The Philadelphia Eagles reached quite a bit with this Reagor pick. In hindsight, Higgins was probably the better pick for them here, and they are able to redo it and make the better pick this time around.

22. Minnesota Vikings – Denzel Mims, WR

Original Pick: Justin Jefferson, WR (taken)

A huge loss for the Minnesota Vikings losing Justin Jefferson. However, they are still able to get a decent player in his place. Mims was another player who was very underrated this season, but actually did play very well.

23. Los Angeles Chargers – Jordan Love, QB

Original Pick: Kenneth Murray, LB (taken)

Without Justin Herbert, the Los Angeles Chargers still need a quarterback. We have yet to see Love play at the NFL level, but he was a solid prospect coming out. The Chargers take him and see how it goes.

24. New Orleans Saints – Michael Onwenu, OT/OG

Original Pick: Cesar Ruiz, C

Cesar Ruiz was not a bad pick, but Onwenu ended up being a sixth round steal for the New England Patriots. The New Orleans Saints take him this time around, filling that hole on the interior of the offensive line more effectively.

25. San Francisco 49ers – Derrick Brown, DT

Original Pick: Brandon Aiyuk, WR (taken)

The San Francisco 49ers did not get Javon Kinlaw this time around, But Derrick Brown isn’t much of a downgrade. The guy is huge and can make great plays as a run stopper and as a pass rusher.

26. Green Bay Packers – Cole Kmet, TE

Original Pick: Jordan Love, QB (taken)

Since Jordan Love is gone, the temptation is no longer there. This time, they make the right pick, getting Rodgers another weapon. Kmet is a great player who was, again, an underrated player his rookie season.

27. Seattle Seahawks – C.J. Henderson, CB

Original Pick: Jordyn Brooks, LB

The Seattle Seahawks pick of Jordyn Brooks was not terrible, but with C.J. Henderson available this late in the first round, they can’t help themselves. Henderson was another cornerback who did not perform very well his rookie season, but can develop into something better.

28. Baltimore Ravens – Xavier McKinney, SS

Original Pick: Patrick Queen, LB (taken)

The Baltimore Ravens had Earl Thomas at the time of the draft, but in hindsight they need a safety. DeShon Elliott played very well for them in 2020, but Xavier McKinney is too good to pass up on.

29. Tennessee Titans – Alex Highsmith, OLB

Original Pick: Isaiah Wilson, OT

The Tennessee Titans drafted the biggest bust of the first round by far in Isaiah Wilson. This time they make a better pick, getting some more pass rush, which was a big problem for them in 2020.

30. Miami Dolphins – Jalen Hurts, QB

Original Pick: Noah Igbinoghene, CB

Although Hurts had not played that great in the few games he played in 2020, he still has some talent. Without Tua Tagovailoa, the Miami Dolphins still need a quarterback. They take Hurts here and see what they can get out of him.

31. Minnesota Vikings – A.J. Terrell, CB

Original Pick: Jeff Gladney, CB

Gladney was not a bad pick by any means, but Terrell is just better. A beast in college, Terrell has a lot of potential in the NFL.

32. Kansas City Chiefs – Jonathan Taylor, RB

Original Pick: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB

Another pick that wasn’t bad, but could have been better. Taylor and Dobbins proved that they were the two best running backs in this draft class, and the Kansas City Chiefs get Taylor, an absolute stud at the running back position.
