Jalin Hyatt A Top Giants Cut Candidate

Jalin Hyatt is entering his fourth year in the league, but he may have played his final snap with the team that drafted him. Selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the New York Giants wide receiver was supposed to be a big-play threat who could take the top off the defense. While he still has impressive vertical speed, he has yet to have that ability translate to on-field success. He appeared in all 17 games as a rookie, making seven starts while recording 23 receptions for 373 yards and no touchdowns on 40 targets.

While Jalin Hyatt showed some promise as a rookie, he could not build on that campaign. The wide receiver recorded just eight receptions for 62 yards in 16 games in 2024 and followed that up with a five-catch, 35-yard performance in 2025. Admittedly, Hyatt hasn’t worked with the best quarterbacks since entering the NFL, but that’s no excuse for this paltry production. With a new head coach in John Harbaugh running the show, Dan Duggan of The Athletic recently reported that Hyatt’s time in New York could be coming to a close.

Giants Expected to Release Jalin Hyatt Before Week 1

Quite frankly, this report doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Jalin Hyatt was an interesting prospect when he first entered the league, but the complete lack of success at the professional level made him a long shot for this roster. Even with budding superstar Malik Nabers recovering from a torn ACL and Wan’Dale Robinson leaving for Tennessee, Hyatt would have needed a strong camp to stick around.

To date, that hasn’t happened. While a lot can change between now and the start of the regular season, all reports indicate that Jalin Hyatt has not done much to impress thus far in the offseason programs. Hyatt will likely earn a practice squad spot with some other team, but his days with the Giants are likely numbered.
