The Houston Texans had one of the best undrafted free agent classes this offseason, and here are four Texans UDFAs who could make the team’s final 53-man roster.
Houston Texans UDFAs Who Could Make an Impact During The 2026 Season
RB Noah Whittington, Oregon
Whittington is an experienced running back who had consistent production throughout his college career and averaged 6.4 yards per carry during the 2025 season. He is a patient runner who has great vision and anticipation. Whittington also plays with great physicality and has solid contact balance and power. He takes great care of the football as well, with zero fumbles during the 2025 season and just one fumble in all four of his seasons at Oregon.
Whittington also has good special teams experience. He is an undersized running back who has average speed, and while he had consistently good production throughout his college career, Whittington never had elite production. However, with his experience, vision, ball security, and consistency as a runner, Whittington is one of the best Texans UDFAs, and has a good chance to make the team’s 53-man roster.
WR Daniel Sobkowicz, Illinois State
Sobkowicz was a highly productive player at Illinois State. He ended his career at Illinois State as the program leader in both career receptions and receiving touchdowns, with 41 total receiving touchdowns and 262 career receptions, while also finishing second in career receiving yards with 3,559 yards. During the 2025 season, Sobkowicz finished sixth in the FCS in receiving yards with 1,141 yards and led the entire FCS with 19 total receiving touchdowns.
He also played a big role in helping Illinois State reach the National Championship Game and scored three touchdowns in a huge upset victory over North Dakota State. Sobkowicz earned All-MVFC First-Team honors and FCS All-American honors during the 2025 season. He has good change of direction speed and is a solid route runner with strong hands.
Sobkowicz is also good in contested catch situations and is a strong red-zone target. He does lack elite top-end speed and is not a great run-after-the-catch receiver, but with his route running, contested catch skills, and red zone ability, along with elite production at the FCS level, Sobkowicz has the potential to be an impactful player in the NFL.
CB Collin Wright, Stanford
Wright is an experienced player who was a three-year starter at Stanford. He is also a versatile player with good experience both outside and at nickel. Wright has good height for the position at 6-foot-0, and he is a smart football player with good instincts and route recognition. He recorded four interceptions over the last two seasons including a pick-six during the 2025 season. Wright is a strong and reliable tackler who excels in run support as well. He doesn’t have great recovery speed or change-of-direction ability. However, with his experience, consistency, and versatility, Wright has the skill set to potentially make the Texans 53-man roster.
P Jack Stonehouse, Syracuse
Stonehouse was arguably the best punter in the 2026 NFL Draft class. He is a four-year starter who played 48 games during his college career. His average yards per punt improved each season during his college career, and Stonehouse averaged 47.1 yards per punt in 2025, finishing seventh best in all of college football. He also finished in the top 25 for net yards in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons, and earned All-ACC Third Team honors in both 2025 and 2023. Stonehouse is a consistent punter who has good power and hangtime on his kicks, with an average hangtime of 4.29 seconds in 2025, ranking fourth-best in the FBS.
