Predicting playoff berths is tough. Looking at the projected easiest and toughest games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2026 is also tough. We previously looked at Tampa Bay’s easiest games and stretches for this season, and now we move on to the toughest games and stretches for the Bucs in 2026.
2026 Buccaneers Toughest Games
Toughest Games in 2026: Buccaneers Challenges
- Sunday or Saturday, Jan 3 or 2 HOME Los Angeles Rams (TBA)
Tampa was treated well by NFL schedule makers, with the only true rough draw being having to face the Los Angeles Rams in Week 17. This game comes in a stretch of four games, with the other three all being NFC South battles. In reality, this game is not going to be a priority with the other three contests within the division deciding their playoff fate. The only plus for Tampa is perhaps the Rams will have already clinched a division title and/or home-field advantage and rest some starters.
- Sunday, December 13 @Baltimore Ravens (FOX)
Had this been 2025, this game would have been a far easier matchup for Tampa Bay. The Ravens’ season was mediocre at best. This season, however, Baltimore looks to be locked and loaded for success. No doubt, this will be the Bucs’ second-toughest game.
- Sunday, December 6 HOME Los Angeles Chargers (CBS)
Tampa hosts a division battle with the Carolina Panthers just six days earlier, a Monday night game. Facing the vaunted Los Angeles Chargers will be tough, but at least it’s a home game. This game won’t be a huge priority, with huge division tilts in three of the final four weeks of the season.
- Sunday, November 8 @ Chicago Bears (NBC and Peacock)
Bad news for Tampa? Facing the Chicago Bears in Week 9 and the Detroit Lions in Week 11 is easily the toughest back-to-back games on the 2026 schedule. Worse news? Both games are on the road. The only good thing is that the bye comes in Week 10. If Tampa heads to the bye with at least six wins, the probability of a playoff berth is at least 68%. The Bucs just might need this win to get to six wins at the break. Tough challenge.
- Sunday, November 22 @ Detroit Lions (CBS)
The positive for Tampa Bay is that they get the bye to prepare for Detroit. Should the Bucs defeat either Chicago in Week 9 or Detroit in Week 11, they are likely on the path to a playoff berth. A win in both games and Tampa is looking at a top seed in the NFC. Lose both, however, and it is a sign the Bucs are in a battle for playoff eligibility.
- Thursday, October 8 @ Dallas Cowboys (Amazon Prime)
The short week, on the road, and against the Cowboys’ expected prolific offense make it tough. What appears to be a revamped, intimidating defense makes this game in a shortened week even tougher.
2026 Buccaneers Toughest Games: Toughest Stretch of Games
- https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/Stretch #1
- Thursday, October 8 @ Dallas Cowboys (Amazon Prime)
- Sunday, October 18 HOME Pittsburgh Steelers (CBS)
- Sunday, October 25 @ Carolina Panthers (FOX)
Combine the road game at Dallas with a visit at home with the Pittsburgh Steelers, only to see Tampa’s first visit with Carolina on the road, and this stretch is for sure a tough one.
- Stretch #2
This second stretch does include a pair of home games and a bye. So much for the positive news, however. Two road tilts at NFC powers Chicago and Detroit bookend the bye. Follow that with the home games coming against Carolina and the AFC powerhouse Los Angeles Chargers, and then(!) a road visit to Baltimore, and this is a super tough stretch.
