The Jets Training Camp Dates have officially been set. With the final week of June upon us, fans eagerly await July to get one step closer to the return of football. On Monday, June 22, the NFL officially announced the 2026 NFL Training Camp report dates. As a result, the Jets training camp dates will begin on July 25th for rookies. On this day, the entire rookie class, including the team’s three first-round picks, will all begin the final stages of playing their first official NFL game in September.
As is tradition, the NFL gives the rookie class some extra days to begin their NFL journey. As for the veterans, their Jets training camp date is July 28th. After how things ended last season, head coach Aaron Glenn is optimistic. Between the defensive overhaul, the return of running back Braelon Allen, and a more diversified offense, the New York Jets have taken strides to improve from last year.

With the days of June drifting further away, football fans are eager for July to start. Like a child too excited to sleep days before Christmas, NFL fans are counting the days until training camp begins. As time goes on, the enthusiasm is palpable for players to return to the field. This year’s NFL Draft features a promising rookie class. The reigning Heisman winner and first overall pick, Fernando Mendoza, takes his first steps to becoming the next Raiders franchise quarterback in Las Vegas starting July 23rd. On that same date, New York Giants linebacker Arvell Reese begins his NFL journey with the New York Giants training camp.

However, a lot of eyes will be on the New York Jets training camp. The Jets training camp dates will be slightly later. Rookies will report on July 25th. Meanwhile, the veterans will report on July 28th. This means Jets fans can officially see second overall pick David Bailey’s first NFL snaps starting July 25th. The Texas Tech edge rusher who led the NCAA in sacks will hopefully refine the Jets’ anemic pass rush approach compared to last season. Of course, for New York, Bailey isn’t the only rookie fans are dying to see.
In April, the Jets sent shockwaves across the league, ending the first round with three first-round picks. After Bailey, New York used their second first-round pick on tight end Kenyon Sadiq from Oregon. For the 16th overall pick, he’s enthusiastic about returning to the field. After undergoing a minor hernia procedure in May, Sadiq missed OTAs. However, he is expected to make a full recovery. With the opportunity to practice for the first time since rookie minicamp, Sadiq has had Jets training camp dates on his mind for weeks. Along with Sadiq, 30th overall pick Omar Cooper Jr. has the team optimistic that they found a great wide receiver to pair with Garrett Wilson.

Jets Training Camp Storylines and Position Battles
After going 3-14 last season, the 2026 New York Jets wish to change things up. The offseason gave the team the chance to do that. The coaching staff got a major shake-up. Aaron Glenn will go back to calling the plays on defense, with new defensive coordinator Brian Duker helping to game-plan. After adding eight new starters on defense, the Jets training camp dates are a crucial time period to get everyone acclimated. Especially rookies David Bailey and 50th overall pick cornerback D’Angelo Ponds. Fortunately, the trio of defensive tackle David Onyemata, linebacker Demario Davis, and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick provides New York with an experienced group to help guide the way.
On offense, the team expects new offensive coordinator Frank Reich to provide an adequate foundation for the passing game to improve. It will be needed, especially if fourth-round pick Cade Klubnik can finish training camp as Smith’s backup, as he’s currently projected.
One group that fans should pay attention to is special teams. The biggest competition is arguably the starting kicker job. The Jets training camp dates will give special teams coordinator Chris Banjo a timeline to determine who wins. The competition is down to veterans Cade York and Jason Sanders. Thus far, the ex-Miami Dolphin Jason Sanders is the frontrunner. However, there is still enough time before training camp for general manager Darren Mougey to add another option not currently on the roster.
