A look inside the rookie Buccaneers

Buccaneers Depth Chart, 2026 Roster Spots: Offense Analysis

WR: Emeka Egbuka, Jalen McMillan, Chris Godwin Jr., Ted Hurst, and Kameron Johnson should make the team. At least one other receiver will make the squad. Don’t be surprised if rookie Eric Rivers earns a spot, pushing Tez Johnson for a spot.

RB: Bucky Irving and free agent signee Kenneth Gainwell should give Tampa Bay a solid 1-2 punch from the running back position. Fantasy owners may be broken-hearted, however, with the uncertainty over who may get the nod in the red zone from game to game. It is anyone’s guess who makes the team as the third running back.

OL: Tristan Wirfs, Ben Bredeson, Graham Barton, Cody Mauch, and Luke Goedeke have spots. Two of the backup jobs should go to Billy Schrauth and Justin Skule. Do the Buccaneers carry nine offensive linemen this season?

TE: Cade Otton has a job. The competition for at least one other spot and likely two is going to be spirited.  Multiple prospects for an addition to this group from free agents (Jonnu Smith, David Njoku) might be a good fit in Tampa Bay’s offense.

QB: The signing of Jake Browning from Cincinnati gives the Bucs a veteran as insurance. Rookie Jalon Daniels is a bet to at least make the practice squad.

Buccaneers Depth Chart, 2026 Roster Spots, Defense Analysis

DL: Calijah Cancey, Vita Vea, A’Shawn Robinson, Rakeem Nunez-Roches, and DeMonte Capehart should make the team. Free agent pickups may change the look of this group for sure. ESPN has reported that Elijah Roberts has moved to #1 on the depth chart at left defensive end, ahead of Cancey.

LB: Six linebackers appear to be solid roster picks(Rueben Bain Jr., Josiah Trotter, Alex Anzalone, Yaya Diaby, Christian Rozeboom, and Dennis SirVocea). The biggest free agent addition and a likely leader early on will be Anzalone.  Look for eight linebackers to make the roster, perhaps nine.

DB: Likely the most competitive roster battles will occur in the secondary, with jobs up in the air all the way through the preseason games. Seven players seem to be frontrunners for spots (Zyon McCollum, Tykee Smith, Antoine Winfield Jr., Benjamin Morrison, Jacob Parrish, Miles Killebrew, and Keinte Scott )with the Bucs likely to carry at least eight and probably nine defensive backs.

Buccaneers Depth Chart, 2026 Special Teams Analysis

  • Chase McLaughlin appears set at kicker.
  • Riley Dixon also appears set at punter.
  • Evan Deckers and Wesley Brown will battle at long snapper. Deckers is the incumbent, but still has to prove himself.
  • The signing of Kenneth Gainwell gives Tampa Bay a solid duo at kick returner(Gainwell) and punt returner (Kameron Johnson)
