Carnell Tate Dynasty Outlook Following Surprising Titans Selection

Carnell Tate was the 4th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, where the Tennessee Titans selected him as the 1st wide receiver off the board. What is Carnell Tate’s dynasty outlook as he becomes second-year quarterback Cam Ward’s top weapon.

Dynasty Outlook for Rookie Titans Wide Receiver Carnell Tate

College Production

Tate played three seasons for the Buckeyes at Ohio State with limited production. He only had 18 receptions in his rookie season, followed by 52 and 51 in the next two. He was the WR2 on the team behind Jeremiah Smith, which explains the limited production. Tate missed three games last season and had 0 drops.

Tennessee Titans Landing Spot

Tate immediately becomes the WR1 for the Titans. The Titans did sign Wan’Dale Robinson in the offseason to be the slot receiver, and they still have Calvin Ridley, Elic Ayomanor, and Chimere Dike, but Tate is the best of all those guys. He is the sure-handed, downfield threat that Ward needed.

Tate at #4 was a surprising pick for some, as Arvell Reese and Sonny Styles were still on the board, but new head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll wanted to build around their young quarterback. When Daboll drafted Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in 2024, Nabers saw 170 targets for the Giants that season. Expect Tate to play a massive role starting right away in 2026.

Other Landing Spots

The Titans are a great landing spot for Tate. Some of the other possibilities where he could have ended up were with Cleveland, where they have massive quarterback questions; Washington, where Tate would be the WR2 behind Terry McLaurin; New York Giants, where he would be the WR2 behind Malik Nabers; and New Orleans, where he would have to split work with Chris Olave. The Titans are one of the few spots in the top ten where Tate immediately becomes the top receiver for the team, and they have an answer at the quarterback position.

Tate Dynasty Value

According to KeepTradeCut, a website that crowdsources dynasty values from players who use the site, Tate is the WR15 ranked behind Garrett Wilson, Nico Collins, and Chris Olave, while ahead of Ladd McConkey, Rome Odunze, and Luther Burden. This is a reasonable range for him, as he is around other WR1s for their teams.

Tate Dynasty Rookie Draft Pick

Tate and Jordyn Tyson will be in a battle for the top wide receiver selected in dynasty rookie drafts. I lean towards Tate as he is the WR1, while Tyson is competing with Olave for targets. Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love is the consensus 1.01, while Tate will slot in as the 1.02 in non-superflex leagues. Even in superflex leagues, he could still be drafted over Fernando Mendoza, depending on team needs.

Tate Dynasty Outlook

Dynasty managers should be excited about Tate’s dynasty outlook. He gets to play with a young quarterback who showed flashes down the stretch and now has a new head coach and offensive coordinator. The Titans offense will be much better in 2026 than in 2025. Good things are coming for Tate, Ward, and the Titans offense.
