Six-Time Pro Bowl, 108-TD Receiver Agrees to Contract With 49ers

The greatest receiver in the history of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Mike Evans, has a new contract for 2026. The 12-year veteran and the San Francisco 49ers have come to terms on a three-year, up to $60.4 million contract. Once a first-round pick of the Buccaneers, Evans spent each of his first 12 seasons in the NFL with the team.

Mike Evans, 49ers, Agrees to Contract

With the seventh-overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Buccaneers took Evans after a successful career at Texas A&M. From the jump, Evans proved himself to be one of the top receivers in the league, amassing 1,051 yards and 12 touchdowns as a rookie. He ended up finishing third in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.

From there, Evans rattled off an additional 10 consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. He owns the NFL record for most 1,000-yard seasons to open a career and is tied with Randy Moss for the second-most 1,000-yard seasons overall, behind Randy Moss (14).

Over that run of 11 consecutive 1,000-yard performances, Evans led the NFL in targets in 2016 and in touchdowns in 2023. To this point in his career, Evans has finished with double-digit touchdowns six times, including a run from 2020 through 2024, when he did so four times in five seasons.

Last year saw the end of that run. Evans only appeared in eight games for the Buccaneers, finishing with 368 yards and three scores.

In total, Evans owns Tampa Bay records for career receiving yards (13,052), receptions (866), and touchdowns (108) by a considerable margin. He also owns the single-season mark in yards (1,524 in 2018) and each of the top six single-season records for touchdowns; only two other players in Buccaneers history finished with 10 touchdowns.

Despite all of these accolades, he never finished a season with over 100 receptions. In his career, Evans earned Pro Bowl honors six times and was named to the AP second-team All-Pro team twice, most recently in 2023.

Evans is 21st all-time in receiving yards and has the second-most among active players (DeAndre Hopkins, 13,295). He’s 31st all-time in receptions and sixth among active players. In terms of touchdowns, Evans is 10th all-time and second among active players (Davante Adams, 117).
