Joe Burrow Backpedals On Negative Bengals Comments
Reporters asked Joe Burrow about those comments during the Pro Bowl, and the Bengals quarterback responded by saying he was just having a bad day. Burrow followed this up by adding that he’s happy with the organization, which should put an end to all trade and retirement speculation.
Perhaps Burrow is downplaying the severity of those comments, but it’s clear that he’s happy where he is and will suit up for the Bengals when the season begins. This should be music to the ears of Bengals fans everywhere, as the quarterback is one of the best in the league at his position.
Originally selected with the first-overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Burrow showed promise as a rookie before taking his game to the next level in Year 2. Paired with LSU teammate Ja’Marr Chase, Burrow finished the 2021 season completing 70.4% of his passes for 4,611 yards, 34 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, and a league-best 8.9 yards per attempt. He’s made two Pro Bowls in the course of his career and led the league in passing yards and touchdowns in 2024.
