Frontrunner Emerges For Ravens Vacant Head Coaching Job

The Baltimore Ravens fired former head coach John Harbaugh, and they could reportedly turn to former Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury. According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, Kingsbury is “a name to watch” for Baltimore and adds that the Ravens would be “an ideal landing spot.”

REPORT: Ravens Eyeing Kliff Kingsbury For Vacant Head Coaching Job

Obviously, this is still early in the process, and anything can happen in the coming days. However, it’s easy to see why Kliff Kingsbury would be an ideal fit for the Baltimore Ravens. Kingsbury runs one of the league’s more unique schemes and excels working with mobile quarterbacks. Lamar Jackson is arguably the NFL’s most dangerous dual-threat quarterback, capable of making every throw while also destroying defenses on the ground.

Kingsbury spent the past two seasons as the Washington Commanders offensive coordinator. While injuries decimated the roster in 2025, Kingsbury’s scheme played a large role in Jayden Daniels dominating as a rookie. Kingsbury also has head coaching experience, having led the Arizona Cardinals from 2019 to 2022. While he finished his tenure with an underwhelming 28-37-1 record, he guided the team to the playoffs in 2021 and had Kyler Murray playing the best football of his career.

Kliff Kingsbury might be the early leader in the Ravens search for a head coach, but he certainly won’t be the only candidate. Looking across the league, Baltimore could consider someone like Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, or former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski. No matter who they pick, the Ravens should be an enviable landing spot due to the presence of two-time MVP Lamar Jackson and the overall talent on the roster.
