2. Las Vegas Raiders
Head coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Geno Smith were supposed to bring the long-suffering Raiders back to postseason contention. Instead, Carroll has failed to elevate the talent on the roster, while Smith has played like one of the worst quarterbacks in football. This team is going nowhere fast, and the 74-year-old Carroll doesn’t have time for a long, painful rebuild. This team must find a way to win games fast, and trading with the Cardinals for Kyler Murray might be the quickest way to turn this ship around.
Murray is an upgrade on Smith, but he’s not good enough to consistently win games with a poor roster. Vegas currently has a 2-12 record and could easily end the season with the first-overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. If that happens, look for Carroll and company to invest in a young potential franchise quarterback like Alabama’s Ty Simpson or Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza.
