While the 49ers prefer to trade for a defensive talent after losing Nick Bosa and rookie Mykel Williams, it shouldn’t be a surprise if they explore the WR market. They already traded for Kendrick Bourne and Skyy Moore, but given that Brandon Aiyuk’s future is in doubt, they should trade for another safe, low-stakes receiver. Jauan Jennings is another latest 49ers wideout that could be on the move despite the new temporary contract. Thornton won’t light up the field, but his elusivity and hands could be useful alongside Demarcus Robinson, Bourne and Moore and a returning Rickey Pearsall.
