1. Washington Commanders
At 3-6, and the Washington Commanders are planning to be without starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, the 2025 season is likely over for them. However, it doesn’t mean the team can entirely tank, and they should be looking for ways to improve the passing attack, so Daniels is ready for a new supporting case once he returns in 2026. No one knows what the future holds for Deebo Samuel, but it would not be surprising if they let him walk in free agency.
Treylon Burks and a returning Luke McCaffrey next season aren’t enough to compensate this receiving unit behind Terry McLaurin, who has also dealt with injuries. A trade for Thornton gives Washington a clean slate and possibly a long-term weapon for Daniels.
