5. Rasul Douglas to the Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings find themselves in a peculiar situation. While they have the talent and coaching to compete for a Super Bowl, they may not have the offense to overcome their current record. At 3-4, Minnesota is still very much alive in the postseason race but is at the bottom of a loaded NFC North. With questions surrounding the untested J.J. McCarthy, the Vikings probably shouldn’t break the bank on one of the top options on the trade market.
Instead, they should pursue a more reasonable option like Rasul Douglas. The 31-year-old is in the midst of a strong season, but he’s also playing on a one-year deal and will be a free agent after the season. Minnesota should add another cornerback to complement Brian Flores’ aggressive scheme, and the Dolphins should be willing to trade a fifth-round pick for half a season of Douglas.
