7. TCU Horned Frogs

The Horned Frogs are essentially North Baylor. Josh Hoover continues to look like one of the top QBs in the country, but the defense has to step up for this team to win football games. Week 7 brought a disappointing loss to Kansas State as the defense could not get off the field.

8. Kansas State Wildcats

The Wildcats are starting to find their rhythm after their early-season struggles. A key component of that has been the team’s health, as they are now as injury-free as they have been since Week 0. Avery Johnson has all the potential in the world, and if he realizes it, this is a team to watch out for over the second half of the season.

9. Iowa State Cyclones

The Cyclones are currently in a free fall, and the bye week comes at the exact right time in Week 8. After two straight losses, this team needs a week to rest, heal up, and get back to 100% if they want to continue to be a factor over the second half of the season.
