The upcoming NFL season has all fans excited after the 2025 season schedules were announced. As tradition, the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, kick off the season vs their NFC East division rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. The next day, the Kansas City Chiefs play the Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil the following night. The schedules were revealed for all 32 teams, including the New York Jets. After the disaster 2024 brought, head coach Aaron Glenn has some key games coming up. The 2025 Jets schedule features some great matchups for the first-time head coach. Let’s examine the Jets 2025 schedule further.

2025 New York Jets Schedule Revealed: Key Games to Watch
Just like the New York Jets, there were some major changes within the AFC East. The Buffalo Bills added to their defense with the additions of veteran defensive end Joey Bosa and rookie Maxwell Hairston. The New England Patriots will also welcome a new head coach after the hiring of Mike Vrabel. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins brought in former Jets quarterback Zach Wilson to back up Tua Tagovailoa. So, that’s why Aaron Glenn and the Jets need to find momentum early.
Week One: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers(Sunday September 7th, 1:00 pm EST)
At home in MetLife Stadium, Aaron Glenn will coach his first NFL game against a man who was once in Aaron Glenn’s shoes over a decade ago. Like Aaron Glenn, head coach Mike Tomlin arrived in Pittsburgh looking to prove himself as a head coach in 2006. 19 years later, Mike Tomlin has established a rich legacy in Pittsburgh with two Super Bowl appearances and a Lombardi trophy in 2008. The depth and talent on the Steelers defensive line will be a test for New York’s offensive line. Fortunately, new quarterback Justin Fields practiced all last season against this unit last year as the Steelers backup quarterback.
Week Two: vs. Buffalo Bills(Sunday September 14th, 1:00 pm EST)
Starting the season with a two-game homestand vs. two playoff teams is a big opportunity for the Jets. Especially getting the chance to seek revenge vs the Buffalo Bills after being swept in both games last year. Reigning MVP Josh Allen is still among the elite quarterbacks in the league, especially when paired with dynamic running back James Cook. However, this is something Glenn knew and wanted when taking the job. As a former Jets player himself and having watched the Lions defense fail to stop Buffalo in Detroit last year, Aaron Glenn is very familiar with the Bills. Expect coach Glenn to make life easier for defensive tackle Quinnen Williams this time around. In addition, the Jets will head to Buffalo in week 18 to close out the 2025 season.
Week Four: @ Miami Dolphins(Monday September 29th, 7:15 pm EST)
In their first Monday Night game, the Jets look for victory this time after losing both games last year to the 49ers and Bills. Their second road game of the season is more significant than most people realize. Especially after the Jets finished night two of the draft. In the second round, New York drafted LSU tight end Mason Taylor with the 42nd overall pick. For NFL historians, the game will be a big homecoming for the Florida native. Taylor is the son of longtime Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor and nephew of linebacker Zach Thomas. Both of whom are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Week Six: vs. Denver Broncos @ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium(Sunday, October 12, 9:30 am EST)
In 2025, the New York Jets will once again join in the NFL’s international games. As a result, the Jets will return to London to face the Denver Broncos. Last year, the Broncos ended the Jets two-game winning streak at MetLife after controversial quarterback Aaron Rodgers didn’t record a single touchdown in a 10-9 loss to Denver. With Broncos quarterback Bo Nix now with a year of experience under his belt, the Jets will need to fire on all cylinders to avoid last year’s mistakes.
Week 11: @ New England Patriots(Thursday, November 13, 8:15 pm EST)
A matchup of major significance between two coaches who experienced this rivalry as players. Along with former Jet Aaron Glenn returning to the organization, the Patriots took a similar page out of New York’s book. This offseason, the team announced the hiring of Mike Vrabel as the team’s new head coach. Before becoming a coach, Vrabel spent seven seasons as a New England Patriot, helping the organization win three Super Bowls during that time. Along with playing New England over a month later on December 28th at home, a win vs. the Patriots would go a long way for Aaron Glenn’s first season.
