REPORT: Former Bengal Fourth Round Pick May Be On Trade Block – 5 Possible Team Fits

Former Cincinnati Bengals fourth-round pick Andrew Billings could be on the trade block in this year’s NFL Draft. According to a report, the Chicago Bears may trade their defensive lineman Andrew Billings as the team has been splurging in free agency. After signing Dayo Odeyingbo and Grady Jarrett, the Bears are beefing up the line as general manager Ryan Poles realizes they need a change of scenery. For Billings, this could be the last season for him since he’s been battling a torn pec playing just 297 snaps.

Originally selected in the 2016 NFL Draft, the former Baylor product began his career as the top defensive tackle prospect competing for the starting nose tackle role. Billings made his debut in 2017 but it was nothing but average, recording a few tackles. It didn’t get any better for the defensive tackle joining the Browns in 2020 and spent some time across the Chiefs and Dolphins practice squads in 2021. Billings isn’t the hottest trade candidate but he could intrigue some interest across the league for at least a late draft pick in return.

He won’t start for a new team but Billings is an excellent rotational piece as a backup for these five teams that may bring out the best in him even though he’s aging.

Potential Destinations

Dallas Cowboys

Despite signing Solomon Thomas, the Dallas Cowboys could use another big body in the rotation behind Osa Odighizuwa. The team has been aggressively adding talent to improve its defense under new coordinator Matt Eberflus. Billings might not live up to expectations but he’s capable of putting pressure on the opposing team to help others like Mazi Smith.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers need another defensive lineman after losing Poona Ford in free agency. He was the best piece in this unit but the team made up for it re-signing Teair Tart. It might not be enough as the Chargers’ defense will look different but Billings might fit into the scheme to make a few players happen.

Kansas City Chiefs

After losing Tershawn Wharton, it leaves a huge hole for the Kansas City Chiefs pass rush in this unit. Chris Jones is one of the best defensive tackles and no one is taking his job. However, he could use a big man like Billings who has the size to open the gaps in rotation with Jerry Tillery.

Baltimore Ravens

The same can be said about the Baltimore Ravens this upcoming season. Last year, the team’s defense wasn’t the same while the offense was lighting up the field. Travis Jones and Broderick Washington have been inadequate in their careers so far. Billings won’t provide much of a difference but he doesn’t have to for this talented Ravens defense since they have the ingredients and all he has to do is spice up the field.

Carolina Panthers

The 2025 free agency has been a success for the Carolina Panthers this offseason. After signing Tershawn Wharton, the Panthers are in good hands when Derrick Brown returns. Billings isn’t taking Wharton’s job but he could be a reliable rotating man alongside.
