BREAKING: Super Bowl Champion Signs Contract With Minnesota Vikings

Four-year veteran cornerback Isaiah Rodgers signed a new contract with the Minnesota Vikings. Rodgers, a one-time Super Bowl champion, spent the 2024 season with the Philadelphia Eagles but has also played for the Indianapolis Colts.

After sitting out the 2023 season due a gambling suspension, Isaiah Rodgers returned to the field and had a promising contract season. Appearing in 15 games while making three starts, the cornerback finished the season with four passes defended, one forced fumble, 26 tackles, and a 73.2 PFF grade, the 25th-best mark out of 116 eligible players. With his help, the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in dominant fashion.

Isaiah Rodgers originally entered the league as a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the Indianapolis Colts, the Massachusetts product spent most of his rookie season in a depth role. Appearing in 13 games without making a start, Rodgers finished his inaugural season with just seven tackles. The Colts made it to the playoffs but lost in the Wild Card round to Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

After spending his rookie season as an afterthought, Rodgers’ role grew in 2021. While he was still a backup, he finished the year with three interceptions, seven passes defended, 49 tackles, and a 70.7 PFF grade. He played a similar role in 2022, making nine starts while finishing the campaign with three passes defended, 34 tackles, and an 82.1 PFF grade.

Unfortunately, Rodgers’ career took a turn in 2023 when he faced a suspension for violating the league’s gambling policy. The NFL hit him with an indefinite suspension and the Colts released him shortly after the news broke. While the Eagles signed him in late August, he missed the entire campaign. However, the league eventually overturned his suspension, allowing him to play in 2024.

Since signing his rookie contract, Isaiah Rodgers has appeared in 60 games while making 13 starts. While on the field, the cornerback has recorded three interceptions, 116 tackles, and 14 passes defended.
