Davante Adams Next Team

Top 5 Davante Adams Team Fits, Ranked

The Davante Adams Era in New York is all but over, as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport recently revealed the wide receiver will join a new team in the coming weeks. In a recent tweet, the NFL insider announced the Jets are fielding calls for the veteran and are expected to release him if they can’t complete a deal. While Adams isn’t the player he once was, he remained a productive receiver with both the Jets and Las Vegas Raiders last year. While he could land anywhere, the following five teams make the most sense.

Top 5 Fits For Davante Adams Next Team, Ranked

Honorable Mention: Wherever Aaron Rodgers Goes

As of this posting, Adams and quarterback Aaron Rodgers are still on the New York Jets. However, both players will be officially looking for their next team, and nobody should be surprised if they reunite in a new location. However, since we don’t know where Rodgers will play, we must analyze the league’s landscape based on the currently available information.

5. New Orleans Saints

While an Aaron Rodgers reunion is likely, nobody should overlook that Davante Adams originally left the Packers because he wanted to play with quarterback Derek Carr. Unfortunately, the two were only paired for a season, as former head coach Josh McDaniels released the quarterback following the 2022 campaign. The Saints could use another receiver with Chris Olave’s concussion history, although they’ll have to get creative to sign Adams without going over the salary cap.

4. New York Giants

The New York Giants are a popular destination for Aaron Rodgers, but even if the four-time MVP lands somewhere else, Davante Adams could make the Giants his next team. 2024 first-round pick Malik Nabers is the real deal, as he finished his rookie season with 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns despite having some of the worst quarterback play in the league. Adams might be better off as a high-end WR2 at this stage in his career, and his presence could help turn Miami’s Cam Ward or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders into a legitimate franchise quarterback.

3. Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford will return for another season, but Cooper Kupp will almost certainly have a new home in 2025. Puka Nacua is the present and future of the Los Angeles Rams passing attack, but the fifth-round pick could use a complementary receiver. Stafford historically loves to target his receivers, and Adams’ large frame makes him a perfect complement to Nacua.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been desperately looking for another receiver for over a year. While they had to settle for Mike Williams in 2024, it’s time for them to get a legitimate weapon. Despite the uncertainty at quarterback, Davante Adams should be more than happy to make the Pittsburgh Steelers his next team, as head coach Mike Tomlin has a positive reputation across the league.

1. Los Angeles Chargers

Far and away the best non-Rodgers fit, the Los Angeles Chargers and Davante Adams could be a match made in heaven. Second-round pick Ladd McConkey had a fantastic 2024 and looks like the real deal. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Quentin Johnston, as the former first-round pick is far too inconsistent for a full-time role. This team needs a proven veteran in the passing attack, and Adams might be the best option on the market.
