2025 Dynasty Quarterback Rankings – Rookies and Veterans

The 2024 rookie quarterbacks really shook up the rankings. These 2025 dynasty quarterback rankings involve new top-12 options, tiers to move around within, and clear markers for risk-seeking managers. For more dynasty fantasy football information, check out this fantasy football podcast.

2025 Dynasty Quarterback Rankings – Rookies and Veterans

Cornerstone Quarterbacks

Josh Allen

Lamar Jackson

Jayden Daniels*

Patrick Mahomes

Joe Burrow

Folks are going to point to C.J. Stroud as a lesson in why Jayden Daniels shouldn’t be this high. Those folks are behind the curve, as Daniels scored three more points per game as a rookie while throwing to the ghost of Zach Ertz. Mahomes is benefiting from a solid defense for real football, which has lowered his fantasy output in recent years. That won’t always be the case, and he could outlast every other quarterback in this tier despite being the oldest. Burrow is on the opposite end there, where his defense won’t always be this putrid, and the future of Tee Higgins is up in the air.

QB1 Options

Jalen Hurts

Justin Herbert

C.J. Stroud

Jordan Love

Drake Maye*

Hurts will keep scoring fantasy points as long as he’s in Philly, but he’s been a trailer on the offense rather than a truck. Drake Maye is on the Justin Herbert path to success, where we universally agree he’s good at football. But then he’s in such a poor situation it’s hard to rank him any higher. Love and Stroud each took serious steps back from 2024, but they’ve put enough on tape that they should start in this league for a long time and can flirt with top six quarterback fantasy seasons.

High End QB2s, Low End QB1s

Baker Mayfield

Caleb Williams*

Jared Goff

Bo Nix

Dak Prescott

Brock Purdy

Goff and Mayfield aren’t the most exciting names in the 2025 dynasty quarterback rankings, but they’re reliable, still have plenty of years left, and give managers points now. How much does the Ben Johnson hire do for Caleb Williams and his development? Does Brock Purdy get the contract we all expect? Is Bo Nix going to continue to run as much as he did as a rookie? Without those answers, it’s a tier of three question marks and three steady options.

Sunshine

Trevor Lawrence

Every fiber of my being says Trevor Lawrence is good at football. But he’s wasting away in Jacksonville. With the influx of talent from 2024 and how well some veterans are performing, he’s in a weird tier where he’s not quite a mystery box, but he’s not scoring enough points to justify a higher ranking.

Mystery Boxes and Scary Injuries

J.J. McCarthy*

Michael Penix*

Cam Ward

Tua Tagovailoa

Shedeur Sanders

Bryce Young

Anthony Richardson*

Anthony Richardson could break fantasy wide open. He could also be benched by Week 4. Each of the 2025 rookies doesn’t have the draft capital yet, but if they’re drafted where we expect them to be they’ll have safe jobs for a couple of years. If there’s a player to bet on in this tier it’s J.J. McCarthy, who landed in the perfect situation for fantasy football, and his film study shows plenty of reasons for optimism. Pick one in this tier to roll the dice on and enjoy the ride.

Landing Spot Dependent Veterans and Retirement Risks

Geno Smith

Matthew Stafford

Sam Darnold

Justin Fields*

Derek Carr

If Stafford, Carr or Geno hung up the cleats in two years no one would bat an eye. Darnold looked like he was due for a big payday, but Kevin O’Connell has a way of making quarterbacks everyone gave up on look exceptional. Justin Fields is one of the only quarterbacks that could be a backup in real life, but is thrown into every fantasy lineup if he actually plays. If it’s a one quarterback league, most of these guys are off your radar.

Will Probably Play Football in 2025

Jaxson Dart

Kirk Cousins

Jameis Winston

Russell Wilson

Will Levis*

Aaron Rodgers

Maybe the Titans pass on a quarterback at the top of the draft and Levis gets another shot. Maybe Jameis Winston is a bridge quarterback holding out for the 2026 quarterbacks. Between Cousins, Wilson and Rodgers there’s going to be a starter or two between them, but good luck figuring out who it will be. There’s not enough starting jobs around the league for the players in this tier, so they’re almost the bottom of these 2025 dynasty quarterback rankings.

Deep Bench Stashes

Daniel Jones

Aidan O’Connell

Spencer Rattler

Sam Howell

Jordan Travis

Gardner Minshew

Malik Willis

Kenny Pickett
