Chiefs Threat

“Terroristic Threat” Made Against Chiefs Stars

Morgan Wallen’s Kansas City concert was delayed more than 40 minutes due to a “terrorist threat” directed at Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. According to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, “[a]n Illinois man has been charged with a felony after he threatened on social media to shoot two individuals.” Those individuals were Mahomes and Kelce, who attended the concert and spent time in Wallen’s dressing room prior to the show.

Aaron Brown, the man alleged of making these threats, has reportedly been charged with a Class E felony of making a terroristic threat in the second degree. According to the Civic Alert, Brown was charged and a $15,000/10 percent bond was set.

“Terroristic Threat” Made Against Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes

For what’s it’s worth, these threats did not publicly impact Kelce and Mahomes throughout the show. As seen on Instagram, the two Chiefs stars joined Wallen through a backstage door, and Mahomes and Kelce both were seen dancing and singing throughout the concert. Wallen also sported a customized Chiefs jersey with the number seven, after his high school baseball number.

As of this posting, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have not issued any public comment on the threat, and it’s unlikely the Chiefs stars ever do.

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are both coming off strong seasons and look to secure their third Lombardi Trophy in as many seasons in 2024. Both players had “down” years in the regular season (by their absurd standards) but came alive in the playoffs. Kelce recorded 93 receptions for 984 yards and five touchdowns, marking the first time since 2015 that he failed to reach 1,000 receiving yards. Mahomes, meanwhile, finished ninth in EPA/play but second in PFF grade. Now armed with more reliable wide receivers, the Chiefs remain the biggest threat in the NFL for the other 31 organizations.
