Tank Dell Shooting

Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was recently the victim of a shooting in Sanford, Florida. According to the team’s Twitter account, the second-year pro only suffered minor injuries and has already been discharged from the local hospital. The shooting occurred when a 16-year-old shot 10 people in a bar, including Dell. Fortunately, all of the victims survived and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

This article will be updated as more information involving the Tank Dell shooting comes to light.

Tank Dell Injured In Shooting, Suffered Minor Injuries

The most important part of the Tank Dell shooting news is that the wide receiver is already out of the hospital and is in good spirits. As of the original posting, the public is not aware if anyone else was injured or worse in the incident. (Update: 10 people in total were shot, but all survived)

Tank Dell originally joined the NFL ranks as a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Selected by the Houston Texans, the rookie immediately outplayed his draft capital and became a focal point of the passing attack. Appearing in 11 games while making eight starts, the Houston product finished the season with 47 receptions for 709 yards and seven touchdowns on 75 targets. Unfortunately, the wide receiver suffered a torn ACL and couldn’t help Houston during their playoff run.

With Dell, Nico Collins, and Stefon Diggs all catching passes from breakout quarterback C.J. Stroud, the Houston Texans appear to be one of the top teams in the AFC entering the 2024 season. While Tank Dell avoided serious injury, it is unclear as of this posting whether or not his minor injuries suffered in the shooting will impact his ability to get back on the field for Week 1. No matter when he suits up again, however, the important thing is that he will be back to his old self in the long run.
