According to a report by the Dallas Morning News, police officers are currently pursuing Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice following an accident on Saturday. Per the report, a vehicle believed to be registered to the wideout was involved in a crash around 6:20 PM. This is all that is currently known, and it would be irresponsible to further speculate on the nature of the investigation.

Last Word on Sports shall update this article with news on the Rashee Rice accident and subsequent pursuit as it becomes available.

Police Searching For Rashee Rice Following Car Accident

Rashee Rice originally joined the Kansas City Chiefs as a second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Selected by the Kansas City Chiefs, the SMU product made an immediate impact on the field. Appearing in 16 games, the rookie finished his inaugural season with 79 receptions for 938 yards and seven touchdowns on 102 targets.

The wide recevier came alive down the stretch and played a major role in Kansas City’s run to the Super Bowl. During their four-game run to their second Lombardi trophy in as many seasons, Rashee Rice recorded 26 receptions for 262 yards and one touchdown. His best game came in the Wild Card Round against the Miami Dolphins, as he recorded eight receptions for 130 yards and a score in freezing conditions.

Rice is one of the few proven commodities on the Chiefs wide receiver depth chart. While the team added Marquise Brown as a free agent, the rest of the group leaves something to be desired. Justin Watson is nothing more than a career journeyman, and Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore have failed to establish themselves as a viable part of Kansas City’s passing attack. While Travis Kelce is still a great player, the organization could use more pass-catching depth, regardless of what happens following the Rashee Rice accident.
