Rashad Tatum’s 2024 NFL First Round Mock Draft

The 2024 NFL combine and Free Agency week 1 is over it's time to see where prospects would fit best in my 2024 NFL Mock Draft.
2024 NFL Mock Draft

It is absolutely thrilling that we are approaching the highly anticipated 2024 NFL Draft. With the recent conclusion of the scouting combine and the first week of free agency, we are gaining a better understanding of the team rosters, and it’s now time to dive into the exciting world of predicting where prospects would best fit in this 2024 NFL mock draft. As we gear up for the draft, I cannot wait to witness the incredible talent that will be showcased in the upcoming 2024 NFL season! Here is my 2024 NFL First Round Mock Draft.

2024 Mock Draft – Round 1

1- Caleb Williams, QB, Chicago Bears

Nicknamed Super Man, Caleb Williams has superstar arm talent and very good athleticism. Williams, with Moore, Allen, Swift, and Kmet, and the progression of young talent on the offensive line, could be in trouble in the NFL.

Caleb Williams Scouting Report

2- Jayden Daniels, QB, Washington Commanders

Jayden Daniels arguably has the most upside in the draft with his combination of deep ball talent and superstar athletic ability. He’s a perfect mix of patient quarterback and improviser, with whom Kingsbury has had success.

3- Drake Maye, QB, New England Patriots

Drake Maye burst onto the scene in 2022 and, in 2023, solidified himself as one of the top quarterbacks in this draft. Maye is a good athlete and has a big arm that can stretch all three areas of the field. He is raw and occasionally has some accuracy technical and footwork problems, but that’s what coaching is for.

4- Marvin Harrison Jr- WR-Arizona Cardinals

Marvin Harrison Jr. is the best player in the draft and was given a Hall of Fame grade by yours truly. Harrison Jr. can run every route and has fantastic hands. He can also easily catch the ball at a high point and at an excellent speed. Kyler Murray, with Marvin Harrison Jr and Trey McBride, is an elite trio.

5- Brock Bowers, TE, Los Angeles Chargers

Many people have Nabers here but give me a potential great Tight End over Wide receiver any day. Brock Bowers with Herbert is the ultimate chess move. Bowers is too big for secondary players and too fast for linebackers.

6- Malik Nabers, WR, New York Giants

Since Odell Beckham Jr.’s departure, the Giants have desperately needed a playmaker at the wideout position. Nabers is a true YAC monster and has home run speed from all areas of the football field.

7- Joe Alt, OT, Tennessee Titans

Joe Alt is following in his father’s footsteps, hoping one day to be an all-pro Tackle like his dad. The Callahans are known for developing Offensive Linemen, and Joe Alt is extraordinarily talented at pass protection and run blocking.

8- Dallas Turner, EDGE, Atlanta Falcons

Throughout his career, Raheem Morris has loved speedy, athletic freaks who jump off the edge to wreak havoc. No other Edge fits this description of talent athleticism and still has elite potential than Dallas Turner.

9- Trade, Rome Odunze, WR, New Orleans Saints

Bears trade Pick 9 to New Orleans Saints for picks 14, 45, and 2025 3rd in this 2024 nfl mock draft.

The Saints are trading up to nine to snatch the ultra-competitive Rome Odunze. Rome is the perfect complement to Chris Olave as a big wide receiver who can run any route and is a high point in football like no other.

10- Olu Fashanu, OT, New York Jets

The Jets have done an excellent job adding immediate help to their offensive line to go all in with Aaron Rodgers. However, with Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses’ age and injury history, Fashanu proves the depth and future star potential.

11- Micheal Penix Jr, QB, Minnesota Vikings

Penix Jr. is my quarterback four because of his natural, excellent arm strength, accuracy, and experience leading an explosive attack. With Penix Jr., the Vikings can continue to be the pass-first team they are.

12- Bo Nix, QB, Deven Broncos

Perfect system fit. No has good athleticism and can run Sean Payton’s offense the way Payton would like. Nix makes quick decisions and is accurate with the football, especially under 20 yards.

13- JJ McCarthy, QB, Oakland Raiders

McCarthy is a developmental prospect with good athleticism and an arm that can make all necessary throws. Oakland wants to be a physical team like Michigan, which bodes well for the national championship.

14- Laiatu Latu, EDGE, Chicago Bears

Latu is the best pure pass rusher in this draft and would be a terror with Montez Sweat. He could be more impressive at setting the edge, but the Bears have Demarcus Walker for that. I expect dangerous things with Latu and Sweat.

15- Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Indy Colts

Mitchell is the best corner in the draft on tape and in the pre-draft process. To make things better, he’s a perfect fit for Gus Bradley’s scheme on defense.

16- Taliese Fuaga, OL, Seattle Seahawks

Fuaga can play tackle, but as a guard, he has all-pro potential. With the increased emphasis on Interior line play, Seattle must get tougher inside to compete in the NFC.

17- Terrion Arnold, CB, Jax Jaguars

Arnold has good height, weight, and speed, along with fantastic fluid hips. The Jaguars will play a lot of tight coverage, so it would be wise to pair a corner alongside Tyson Campbell.

18- Troy Fautanu, OL, Cincinnati Bengals

Fautanu has some of the best feet in the draft and displayed his explosiveness at the combine. With coaching, Fautanu can become a Pro Bowl tackle.

19– Jared Verse, EDGE, Los Angeles Rams

With the HOF pass rusher retired, the Rams must add to the pass rush to help young studs Kobi Turner and Byron Young. Enter Jared Verse, and pass rushing savant who is also gritty vs the run. It could be an explosive trio.

20- Jackson Powers Johnson, OC, Pitts Steelers

Signing Russell Wilson and trading for Justin Fields means the Steelers want to run the football. Enter powers Johnson, the best run-blocking offensive lineman in the draft. He has immense potential but has yet to reach his ceiling.

21- Byron Murphy Jr, DL, Miami Dolphins

After losing Christian Wilkins, the Miami Dolphins need to quickly sign Byron Murphy Jr. Murphy Jr. has an elite upside and is a day-one physical player Miami needs.

22- Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Philly Eagles

Kool-Aid is a smooth corner that can immediately help the eagles outside or inside. When studs Darius Slay and Bradeery age out, Kool-Aid can step right in.

23- Johnny Newton, DL, Minnesota Vikings

With their second first pick, the Vikings get Johnny Newton. Newton is the best interior pass rusher in the draft and would be perfect with Johnathan Greenard.

24- T’vondre Sweat, DL, Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have had a significant problem the last few years in big games: STOPPING THE RUN. Cowboys draft Tvondre Sweat, who is a massive Human who can clog holes for their LBS to get downhill.

25- Cooper Dejean, DB, Green Bay Packers

Like many teams in the NFC, the Green Bay Packers need more versatility in their back sevens. Adding Dejean with Xavier McKinney could give them one of the top safety combos in the NFL.

26- JC Latham, OT, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Bucs have been dismal running the football. To get further in the playoffs, Latham will anchor and dominate the run game.

27-  Chip Robinson, EDGE, Arizona Cardinals

Chop Robinson has one of the highest ceilings in the draft with his explosive first step and bend. He’s raw, but Gannon has time to develop his potential. Hassan Reddick.

28- Ladd Mcconkey, WR, Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have tried everything to build a defense to get to the Super Bowl, but nothing has worked. They should try it the other way, surrounding Allen with elite weapons like route-running savant Ladd Mcconkey.

29- Darius Robinson, DL, Detroit Lions

The Lions have added some good vets to bolster the defense, but they still need more. Adding Darius Robinson would bring a versatile Inside and Outside presence next to Aidan and McNeil.

30- Brian Thomas Jr- WR, Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens need more explosive Wide Receivers to push the ball downfield. Brian Thomas Jr is the best deep threat in the draft and has tremendous upside. An easy fit in this 2024 NFL Mock draft.

31- Nate Wiggins, CB, San Francisco 49ers

Nate Wiggins is the lockdown corner with an upside to go opposite pro bowler Chardavius Ward.

32- Xavier Worthy, WR, Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs add another deep threat who can work in the slot or go alongside Brown to open up Kelce and Rice underneath.

The 2024 NFL Draft is expected to be an exhilarating event for football enthusiasts, featuring a blend of established stars and up-and-coming prospects. Teams will have a wealth of options to choose from when selecting their future franchise players. In conclusion, this 2024 NFL draft promises to be a thrilling experience for all fans of the sport.

Packers Defensive Line

Change Is Coming For the Green Bay Packers Defensive Line

Before the 2009 NFL season, the Green Bay Packers ran a 4-3 defensive scheme. But that changed when then-head coach Mike McCarthy hired Dom Capers as his new defensive coordinator. Capers brought with him a 3-4 defensive scheme. That scheme, or at least a form of it, continued to be run after Capers departed in 2017. Mike Pettine and Joe Barry both ran a form of a 3-4 defense. But now, with the arrival of new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, the 3-4 departs, and the 4-3 enters. The new scheme means that the Green Bay Packers defensive line will have some learning to do in this year’s training camp.
