NFL veteran running back Derrick Henry has signed a new contract with the Baltimore Ravens. Henry,  a four-time Pro Bowler and one-time First-Team All-Pro, spent the entirety of his career with the Tennessee Titans.

Derrick Henry is one of the greatest players of his generation, and the workhorse running back was still going strong throughout the 2023 season. Starting in all 17 games, the 29-year-old finished the season with a league-leading 280 carries for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns. Henry did all this despite some of the worst offensive line play in the league and a below-average passing attack with only one real threat at wide receiver.

Henry originally entered the NFL as a second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Selected by the Tennessee Titans, the Alabama product spent his early years splitting snaps behind DeMarco Murray. The two formed one of the deadliest 1-2 punches in football, and Derrick Henry finished his rookie season with 490 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 110 attempts.

After another season spent backing up Murray, Derrick Henry finally had his chance to shine in 2018. Taking over as the lead back, Henry finished his third season in the league with 1,059 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 215 carries. A sizable portion of this production came later on in the year, leading to many a fantasy football championship.

The running back proved that his late-season surge was no fluke in 2019. With Ryan Tannehill taking over for Marcus Mariota, Derrick Henry had the best season of his career. Starting and appearing in 15 games, the Alabama product led the league in carries (303), rushing yards (1,540), and touchdowns (16) while helping to lead Tennessee to the AFC Championship Game. He somehow found a way to top this in 2020, recording 2,027 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on 378 rushing attempts.

Since signing his rookie contract, Derrick Henry has appeared in 119 games while making 88 starts. While on the field, the running back has recorded 9,502 rushing yards and 90 rushing touchdowns on 2,030 carries.
