Jauan Jennings Contract

San Francisco 49ers Tender Super Bowl Star

Four-year veteran wide receiver Jauan Jennings signed a new contract with the San Francisco 49ers. Jennings, a former seventh-round pick, spent the entirety of his professional career with the San Francisco 49ers.

The San Francisco 49ers had perhaps the most talented collection of offensive talent in the league, and Jauan Jennings was a victim of that abundance of talent. With Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle all fighting for targets, Jauan Jennings finished the final year of his contract with just 19 receptions for 265 yards and one touchdown. Despite this, he still found a way to put his skills on display in the Super Bowl. During the big game, the receiver hauled in four passes for 42 yards and a touchdown while also throwing a 21-yard touchdown to McCaffrey.

Jauan Jennings originally entered the league as a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Selected by the San Francisco 49ers, the Tennessee product spent his rookie season on the practice squad. However, after a year of learning the ropes, Jennings finally emerged as the team’s third receiver in 2021. Appearing in 16 games while making one start, the wideout finished the season with 24 receptions for 282 yards and five touchdowns. San Francisco made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game before falling to the eventual Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.

Jennings returned to a similar role in 2022. Still seeing work behind Samuel and Aiyuk, the shifty third-year receiver finished his campaign with 35 receptions for 416 yards and one touchdown on 56 targets. Once again, the team made it to the NFC Championship Game but fell short when Brock Purdy injured his elbow early in the contest.

Since signing his rookie contract, Jauan Jennings has appeared in 45 games while making seven starts. While on the field, the wideout has recorded 78 receptions for 963 yards and seven touchdowns.
