Running back Devin Singletary joined the Texans on a one-year contract to provide some support for incumbent starter Dameon Pierce. However, after Pierce got off to a slow start, Singletary became the primary starter in the offense. Appearing in all 17 games while making 10 starts, the veteran finished the season with 898 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 216 carries. The Texans themselves had a strong season, making it to the AFC Divisional Round in their first year under head coach DeMeco Ryans and quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Devin Singletary originally entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Selected by the Buffalo Bills, the Florida Atlantic product immediately made an impact for his team. Appearing in 12 games while making eight starts, the rookie finished his inaugural season with 775 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 151 attempts.

The Bills added Zack Moss into the mix in 2020, and the two spent the season splitting touches. Singletary was still the primary option, however, as he finished the season with 687 yards and two touchdowns as the Bills made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game.

Singletary’s third year in the NFL was arguably his best. Clearly beating out Moss as the lead running back in the offense, the Florida Atlantic product recorded 870 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 188 attempts. Devin Singletary had a similarly strong season in the final year of his contract, running for 819 yards and five touchdowns.

Since signing his rookie contract, Devin Singletary has appeared in 78 games while making 66 starts. While on the field, the former third-round pick has recorded 4,049 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns on 888 rushing attempts.
