NFL veteran center Aaron Brewer signed a new contract with the Miami Dolphins. Brewer spent the 2022 season with the Tennessee Titans and has played for them since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2020.

Heading into his collegiate career, Brewer was only a two-star recruit from Texas. Brewer performed above expectations and played in 48 games while developing experience with all five offensive line positions. During his four seasons at Texas State, Brewer earned accolades that showcased his talent as an offensive lineman. Although he was undrafted in 2020, Brewer performed well enough as an undrafted rookie to hold a roster spot on the Titans and appeared in 12 games that season. During Brewer’s 2021 campaign, he received four more starts than his rookie year.

Brewer’s role on the team drastically increased over the past two seasons because the Titans offensive line dealt with poor play and injuries. One of the notable injuries included star left tackle Taylor Lewan, who suffered a season-ending injury during the second week of the season. These issues enabled Brewer to start all 17 games for the Titans, and he played decently by allowing only four sacks. Since Brewer has played all five offensive lineman positions, he flexibly played both left guard and center during 2022.

The 2023 season showed a lot of problems with the Titans offensive line, and Brewer was one of the brighter spots within the position group. He started all 17 games again and blocked well in the running game, but he struggled with pass protection. Brewer allowed two more sacks in 2023 than the previous season, making it difficult to throw the ball downfield. While he may have stumbled in the passing game more this season, Brewer was more disciplined and accrued fewer penalties this year. Although he did not have his best season, Brewer showed why he deserves another NFL contract.
