2024 NFL Draft: Dylan Laube Scouting Report
Meet the talented running back, Dylan Laube, who started his college football career at New Hampshire in 2018. He quickly made a name for himself in his sophomore year, earning the second-team Freshman All-American title by Phil Steele. In 2022, he received seven All-America honors and rushed for over 1,200 yards, recording 464 receiving yards and scoring 17 total touchdowns.
As a team captain in his senior year, he had 715 rushing yards, 699 receiving yards, and 18 touchdowns, repeating as an All-American. During his last two years, Laube was the FCS leader in all-purpose yards per game. Laube declared for the 2024 NFL Draft and received invitations to play at the East-West Shrine Bowl, Senior Bowl, and the NFL Scouting Combine. Dylan Laube had a school record of 295 receiving yards against Central Michigan.
Strengths
- Dylan Laube is versatile. Capable of being your 3rd down back, comfortable in zone and gap schemes, moonlighting as a receiver or on special teams;
- He is an excellent receiver, possibly the best in class. Laube had 63 catches in 2023, an excellent mark for a running back. He participated in wide receiver and running back drills at the Senior Bowl.
- Laube has NFL speed that he showcased in Mobile. He’s a tenacious rusher who showcases good vision. He boasts quick feet and explodes as a one-cut rusher.
- Dylan Laube plays low to the turf and is patient in setting up his runs. He is shifty enough to make defenders miss in space.
- Vs. 2024 Draft Running Backs: Targets Per Route Run Percentage: 24.3% (1st).
Weaknesses
- Dylan Laube needs to improve as a pass blocker. He’s not reliably doing that right now. He attacks as a blocker, too often giving up leverage.
- Dylan Laube playing at the FCS level will hurt any prospect. Laube is a prospect lacking elite athleticism, and there will be questions on whether his athletic ability will translate to the NFL.
- Outside of his receiving profile, Laube wasn’t analytically impressive when compared to his 2024 running back peers. There should be a better analytical profile out of the FCS.

Bottom Line on Dylan Laube
Dylan Laube is a versatile running back with excellent receiving skills and NFL speed. While he needs to improve his pass blocking, and there are concerns about his athleticism, he has the potential to be a valuable asset for NFL teams in need of a versatile backfield player. His analytics profile is not as impressive as some of his 2024 running back peers, which is a concern. Despite this, he has the potential to be a solid contributor as a third-down back to an NFL team and is projected to be drafted in the sixth round.
