Uncovering the DraftKings DFS Bargains for Packers @ Giants

The second Monday Night Football game in Week 14 sees the Packers travel to the Giants. Two teams with loads of DraftKings DFS bargains
New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt

Not content with one Monday Night Football game the NFL has scheduled two this week. Green Bay will be absolutely battering the Giants while the Titans and Dolphins are playing. Well you can never have too much of a good thing, can you? And DraftKings DFS slates are definitely a good thing.

Technically the Giants and Packers both come into this game on winning streaks, but the Giants have beaten the Commanders and the Patriots in their last two games. The Packers’ victories came against the Chargers, Lions, and Chiefs. Some winning streaks are more impressive than others. An unsympathetic man would suggest the Giants offense consists of Saquon Barkley and some dudes, but that would be doing them a disservice. There is actually quite a lot of talent on the Giants roster, but it only appears sporadically. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if they did win this game, but it also wouldn’t be a surprise if the Packers bodied them.

Monday Night Football DraftKings DFS Bargains – The Packers @ Giants Version

The Big Play Jay DraftKings DFS Pick – Jayden Reed

Reed has scored 6 touchdowns for the Packers this season. Only Romeo Doubs has more. And only Doubs and Christian Watson will cost more on this DraftKings DFS slate. But Watson’s catch rate is nearly 10% below Reed’s. Reed is catching 62.5% of his targets, Watson just 52.8%. That alone makes Reed a bargain.

The Giants defensive backfield is riddled with injuries at the moment but Reed should find himself lining up against Cor’Dale Flott this week. Flott is having a very good season on a defense that has been pretty resolute despite not getting much assistance from their offense. Flott is only allowing 62.9% of passes thrown in his direction to be completed and he’s only missed 1 tackle this season. But he has allowed 176 yards after the catch. And when Reed gets up to top gear not many can get close enough to try to tackle him.

The Next Man Up DraftKings DFS Pick – Ben Sims

Sims is an interesting one, he might be the cheapest player on this DraftKings DFS slate. That’s because he has only caught 3 passes all season. But the Packers currently have 2 tight ends on IR and another battling a hip issue. The Packer claimed Sims off waivers in August and he’s yet to play more than 31% of the offensive snaps in a game.

He played 31% of the snaps last week and he caught his first NFL touchdown last week, it was his only catch of the game and it went for just a single yard. But needs must an all that. The Giants are allowing 11.2 yards per catch to tight ends. Unless Sims is only used around the goal line he should get the chance to stretch his legs this week.

The Excitement Machine DraftKings DFS Pick – Jalin Hyatt

Every time I think Hyatt is going to have a big game the Giants refuse to pass to him, but last Tommy DeVito seems to really like him. DeVito has thrown 9 passes to Hyatt, that’s 18% of the passes he’s thrown in his 3 starts.

Hyatt has caught 6 of those passes and taken them for 116 yards at an average of 19 yards per catch. That’s going to make a tad expensive for a bargain, but there will still be 5 or 6 receivers who cost more than him.

Hyatt should line up against rookie Carrington Valentine who has been outstanding in 2023. His performance level allowed the Packers to trade Rasul Douglas to the Bills. Carrington is only allowing 45.9% of passes to be completed and a passer rating of just 66.0. But Hyatt is an absolute burner, his former college quarterback claimed Hyatt is faster than Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle (which seems extreme). But if Hyatt can get behind the dinged-up Packers defensive backs he’ll put up big points.

The ‘Tis The Season Pick – Isaiah Hodgins

It’s Isaiah Hodgins’ season y’all. In December last season Hodgins caught 21 of 28 passes for 208 yards at an average of 9. yards per catch. He also caught 3 touchdowns in those games. He’s not really caught fire in 2023, but that’s all about to change.

Hodgins has caught 3 of his 4 targets in the last 2 weeks and he’s averaging 11.3 yards per catch. The Giants will want to run the ball a lot against the Packers but if the Packers take an early lead they’ll have to cut DeVito loose.

If the Giants do spread the offense out a bit Hodgins would match up against either Keisean Nixon who has been dealing with a wrist issue (it didn’t stop him from picking off Patrick Mahomes last week though). Hodgins is 5 inches taller than Nixon though.

The Total Desperation Pick – Malik Heath

Honestly? There’s no reason to pick Heath beyond the fact that he’s caught 87% of his targets in the last 3 games (he’s only had 7 targets though). And he’ll be dirt cheap on DraftKings DFS this week. It’ll be quite surprising if there is a cheaper receiver in this game and at 6 feet 2 inches tall and 213lbs defenders won’t be queueing up to stop him when he does get the ball.

On average just 3 teams are allowing more DraftKings DFS points to receivers per game. The Giants’ 40.6 points per game is just 0.4 points behind the Buccaneers in 3rd place and 9.4 behind the Eagles in first place.
