DraftKings DFS Week 4 Thursday Night Slate

Thursday Night Football promises to be another one sided romp in Week 3, but you can always spice it up with some DraftKings DFS action
Packers Receivers

The real Packers turned up in Week 3, you know, the ones that were making Aaron Rodgers look totally average at the start of 2022? Their timing couldn’t have been much worse as they face off against the Lions this week. You know the Lions, the guys who are averaging 24 points per game. So, it’s pretty difficult to pick many Packers this week, especially with Aaron Jones and Christian Watson recovering from injuries. Unless there’s a huge improvement from last week the Packers offense might not be on the field much.

Some DraftKings DFS Bargains in Another Primetime Garbage Fire

Jayden Reed

You can’t just choose players from one team though, so let’s try and find at least one Packer with some upside. With Christian Watson’s seemingly never-ending hamstring injury, Reed has the same target share as Romeo Doubs at 21.1%. So, it’s a toss-up between him and Doobs then? Well, it is but Reed is $1,200 cheaper.

Reed has caught nine of his 20 targets this year. Doubs has caught 11 of his but he only has 129 receiving yards to Reed’s 148. Doubs hauled in one more touchdown than Reed, but Doubs has only had three this season.

A DraftKings DFS Giveaway – Dontayvion Wicks

Christian Watson would be a reliable option if he were 100% fit, but his hamstring injury has been persistent. Even if he does play it’s difficult to have much confidence in his ability to maintain his speed.

Wicks has only caught 50% of his targets so far this season but he is averaging 14.2 yards per catch. Rookie Wicks has seen 2, 4 and 6 targets this season. So, 8 this week then? Fingers crossed. He played a season-high 66% of the Packers’ snaps last week too and ended with 45 yards on four catches.

Wicks is the sixth most expensive receiver on the DraftKings slate, so if he can add a touchdown to his usual 40+ yards he’ll be a real bargain.

A DraftKings DFS Old Stager – Josh Reynolds

But it looks like the Lions are going to be the team scoring the most points in this game. They’ve been doing an excellent job of sharing out the action though, Reynolds has only had 13.4% of the team targets in 2023. But he’s made the most of them, he’s averaging 16.2 yards per reception. And he’s grabbed two touchdowns to go with his 146 yards.

At $4,400 Reynolds is $600 cheaper than Romeo Doubs and that seems pretty incongruous when Douds has to play against the Lions’ defense. Reynolds has 17 more yards than Doubs in 2023 too.

A DraftKings DFS Rookie Star – Sam LaPorta

LaPorta is the most expensive tight end in this game but with good reason. He’s been seeing more targets each week, from 5 to 6 to 11 last week!  caught 81.8% of his targets and is averaging 10.3 yards per reception too.

He’s valued at $4,800 on DraftKings this week, $1,200 more than Packers rookie Luke Musgrave, but he has scored 20 points more than Musgrave in 2023.

DraftKings DFS Longshot – Kalif Raymond (Deep Threat/Designed Touches)

Raymond is a long shot for a huge score this week, but he’s had 1, 3, and 6 targets so far in 2023. When the two teams met in January, he went for 66 yards on 4 catches. So, he knows his way around the Packers’ defense. He’s also rushed for 11 yards so far in 2023 so he could be primed to run some of the Lions’ trusty trick plays.

Raymond is the 7th most expensive receiver on DraftKings Thursday night slate, so he’ll allow you to take both Aaron Jones and Jahmyr Gibbs if you’re looking to load up on explosive playmakers.
