Cowboys NNFL Top 100

As the NFL continues to roll out their top 100 players of 2023, players ranked Nos. 30 through 60 were announced this past week and three offensive players made the cut for the Dallas Cowboys.

Despite the woes in last season’s playoffs with the Dallas Cowboys offense, there are three players who made the top 50 list for 2023; CeeDee Lamb, Tony Pollard, and Dak Prescott. All three players have been playing their part in setting the team up to be a playmaking team. Especially, Pollard, who went into the 2022 season filling the shoes of Elliott after going down with an injury. He finished the season by breaking a record run against the Saints for 58 yards ending in a touchdown. Pollard finishes the season as No. 55 in the top 30-60 for 2023 after not being ranked last year. Lamb is considered one of the best ever since replacing Amari Cooper as the No. 1 wide receiver for the Cowboys. Lamb finishes the top high in the ranks at No. 34. It is deserving especially earning the respect for wearing No. 88 as his jersey number. Prescott, despite his hand injury, still made efforts to lead the team to the playoffs for the fourth time in his career. By not only outperforming Tom Brady in the Wild Card round in last season’s playoffs but his phenomenal performance on the field.

Multiple Dallas Cowboys Crack NFL’s Top 100 List for 2023

CeeDee Lamb

The controversy spurred when in his rookie season, he went to take the No. 88 as his jersey number as it confused fans on why he picked that number. Lamb wanted to keep the jersey number to keep the tradition going. Since then, he has been making players and proving himself as a playmaker on the field. By finishing his college career with Oklahoma by completing second in recording 32 receiving touchdowns. Indeed, bounding for success by becoming All-Big 12 Honorable Mention for Offensive Freshman Of The Year by the league’s coaches. In 2020, entering the NFL, he put up impressive numbers despite rookie challenges and the absence of Prescott.

He made a name for himself as the alpha. With his increasing numbers in receptions, yardage, and touchdowns each year, he is bounding to fill the shoes that Dez Bryant and Michael Irvin did. He is well-deserving to wear that No. 88 jersey number. He is remaining as Prescott’s top weapon and with better chemistry, Lamb is reaching for more success in the upcoming season.

Tony Pollard

There has been some worry about whether or not Tony Pollard is able to replace Ezekiel Elliott. The Cowboys don’t have that same worry anymore. By finishing his 2022 season, Pollard recorded 193 carries with 1,007 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. His speed and agility to fight on the ground game prove that he can be a problem for defenses. It’s not just about his speed, but the way how he was able to make defenders miss in the open field. Pollard is the type to make small gains into big yardage and that is something to watch for this season. Fans have been clamoring for Pollard to get more touches, now he has that chance remaining as Cowboys’ No. 1 running back. His versatility to be able to catch the ball sets him up to be a valuable weapon for Dallas. Notably, he has a responsibility for the first two regular-season games of 2023 since No. 2 running back Ronald Jones is suspended. He leads Deuce Vaughn and the rest of the group for this season.

Dak Prescott

Prescott turned heads when he got the start to take over the starting job over Tony Romo in 2016. When Romo retired, Prescott began his tenure with Dallas by having a record-breaking rookie season. Finishing his Cowboys rookie season with 3,667 yards and 23 touchdowns with just four interceptions. He surpassed Tom Brady’s record with the most passes to start a career without an INT. Prescott came a long way by leading Dallas to four playoff appearances that came up short. He went through dark times when he suffered a gruesome injury to his leg in 2020. He went through critics as well questioning his ability for Dallas when he went down another injury this past season. Prescott overcame those obstacles to embrace the negativity as training camp is off to a fiery start for Dallas. He recorded a passer rating of 91.1 with 2,860 yards and 23 touchdowns in just 12 games. The Cowboys have been helping Prescott get weapons like Brandin Cooks to give him speed and a new offensive system. Offenses’ inconsistencies from last season have the chance to help Prescott to turn it around for this 2023 season.
