Let’s just get out in front of this one, there is a clear top two. Dynasty wide receiver rankings are fairly stable at the top given the influx of amazing young talent. Some perennial pro-bowlers are on their way over the age cliff, and some young studs have a chance to take a big step forward in 2023. Who tops the dynasty wide receiver rankings, and who’s buried under the other great players?
2023 Dynasty Wide Receiver Rankings
Tier 1 – The Easy Ones
- Ja’Marr Chase
- Justin Jefferson
They’re both insane. Absolutely excellent players, with unbelievable talent. There is almost no need to trade either player, unless getting a king’s ransom. Chase is only slightly above Jefferson due to his quarterback situation. Chase is tied to Burrow indefinitely, Jefferson has at least another year of Kirk Cousins slinging it, but the future could get ugly in Minnesota. If it’s a rookie quarterback, his ceiling gets capped for a season and if it’s a bad quarterback, his prime years can get wasted quickly.
Tier 2 – The Sky’s the Limit
- Ceedee Lamb
- A.J. Brown
- Jaylen Waddle
- Garrett Wilson
- Amon-Ra St. Brown
All 25 and under. Each either with a top ten finish under their belts or primed for one this season. All in all, this tier is crazy talented and there’s not much more to say about them. The St. Brown slander is over, he is firmly in the second tier of receivers and helps Jared Goff stay relevant.
Tier 3 – League Winners and Upside
- Tyreek Hill
- D.K. Metcalf
- Tee Higgins
- DeVonte Smith
- Chris Olave
- Drake London
- D.J. Moore
- Stefon Diggs
Hill and Diggs are still just young enough to provide value for multiple seasons at a top five level. Higgins and Smith are currently the number two on their own teams, but on two of the best offenses in football. Accordingly, they stay high on dynasty wide receiver rankings. Everyone else has varying degrees of quarterback play, target competition and offensive playstyle that hamstring them, but have the talent to remain effective.
Tier 4 – Old Young and Weird
- Cooper Kupp
- Jerry Jeudy
- Brandon Aiyuk
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba
- Treylon Burks
- Quentin Johnston
- Jordan Addison
- Diontae Johnson
- Christian Watson
- Davante Adams
For the most part, contenders can grab Kupp or Adams for cheap. They are still possible top receivers for 2023 and should not fall out of the top 25 until the wheels fall off. Jeudy, Aiyuk and Johnson all have had spurts of excellence nestled between dead periods. The rookies, Watson and Burks are talented, young and poised for repeated top 24 finishes for the next five years.
Tier 5 – Land Mines and Gold Mines
- Jameson Williams
- Marquise Brown
- Zay Flowers
- Chris Godwin
- Amari Cooper
- Michael Pittman Jr.
- Terry McLaurin
- Jahan Dotson
- Christian Kirk
- George Pickens
- Deebo Samuel
- Mike Williams
Between the suspensions, injuries, or being tied to rookie/terrible quarterbacks this tier is a mess. But each of the players has already displayed some top tier talent, and in dynasty managers want to bet on talent, as situations change all the time. Does Kirk lose targets to Calvin Ridley? Is Cooper going to get targets from Watson, or will he miss Jakobi Brisset? Find out on the next episode of NFL Fantasy Football.
Tier 6 – Worth a Swing
- Kadarius Toney
- Mike Evans
- Gabe Davis
- Rashod Bateman
- Calvin Ridley
- Deandre Hopkins
- JuJu Smith-Schuster
- Jalin Hyatt
- Wan’Dale Robinson
- Donovan Peoples-Jones
- Rashee Rice
- Keenan Allen
- Courtland Sutton
- Alec Pierce
- Jonathon Mingo
- Josh Downs
Yes, Toney is the most fun player in football. But he’s played about as many snaps as the long snapper for the Los Angeles Chargers the last couple seasons. This tier has old receivers who could sneak into the top 24 this season, young rolls of the dice and whatever a Courtland Sutton is. Ridley is by far the most interesting player in this tier, but the belief in him is just too much for this analyst.
