Linebacker T.J. Edwards chose a great year to hit free agency. Starting all 17 regular season games, Edwards proved himself to be one of the best in the business while serving as the heart and soul of one of the best defenses in football. In total, the linebacker recorded 159 tackles, 10 tackles-for-loss, five quarterback hits, two sacks, seven passes defended, and one fumble recovery during his time on the field. Edwards finished the season with an 81.1 PFF grade, good for the seventh-best mark among 81 eligible linebackers.

T.J. Edwards originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft. Signing with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Wisconsin product didn’t need much time to prove that he should’ve heard his name called during the draft. Appearing in all 16 games while making four starts, the rookie finished his inaugural campaign with 30 tackles.

After his promising debut, Edwards earned a starting role in his second campaign. Starting and appearing in 12 games, the linebacker finished his season with one interception, one pass defended, two forced fumbles, two sacks, 70 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, and two quarterback hits. Unfortunately, despite his strong play, Philadelphia could not make the playoffs.

T.J. Edwards continued to grow during his third season in the league. Appearing in 16 games while making 14 starts, the Wisconsin product finished the year with 130 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, two quarterback hits, one sack, five passes defended, and one interception. The Eagles made it to the playoffs, but fell in the Wild Card round to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Since signing his rookie contract, T.J. Edwards has recorded 389 tackles, 20 tackles-for-loss, nine quarterback hits, five sacks, and two interceptions.
