Week 17 Stream Team

Every week is a great week when there’s football involved. Each week this column will analyze a player at each position rostered in 50 percent of Yahoo leagues or less. This group of players is basically a dream stream team. For reference, the threshold used for Wins and Losses in this article will be if the quarterbacks can score at least 17 points, if the tight ends can score at least eight PPR points, and if the rest can score at least 10 PPR points. Here is the Week 17 Stream Team.

Week 17 Stream Team

Quarterback – Russell Wilson (DEN – 48%) @ KC

This is how far Russell Wilson has fallen this season. After starting out the season as one of the favorites to take a leap now that he was out of the Seattle Seahawks’ run-heavy scheme, Wilson and the Denver Broncos have become the most disappointing offense for fantasy managers this season relative to expectations.

This week Wilson has a chance to make at least one positive impact on the fantasy season. He’s been dropped in most leagues at this point due to the poor play but this week he gets a juicy matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this year and are currently 13.5-point favorites over the Broncos. Wilson and the Broncos are going to need to drop back to pass far more often in this one to try to keep up. Wilson scored 26.58 fantasy points just a couple of weeks ago against the Chiefs. That was his second-best game this season and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him do it again this week. That makes him one of the best Week 17 Stream Team options this week for those looking for a quarterback in their fantasy championships.

Honorable Mentions – Brock Purdy (SF – 36%) @ LV, Mike White (NYJ – 17%) @ SEA

Running Back – Tyler Allgeier (ATL – 49%) v ARI

It seemed like Tyler Allgeier was going to lose most of his fantasy value with the return of Cordarrelle Patterson. That hasn’t been the case at all. Allgeier is ending his rookie season very strongly right now. This week he scored 15.70 fantasy points against a tough Baltimore Ravens defense. Allgeier did that without scoring a touchdown either. He was more involved as a pass-catcher than usual with career-highs in targets (5) and receptions (4). Allgeier’s 43 receiving yards were the second-highest of his career. He also had a career-high 18 carries in this one too. Allgeier turned those into 74 rushing yards. This comes a week after a 25.60-point performance in which he rushed for a career-high 139 yards.

It’s clear the Atlanta Falcons want to get an extended look at Allgeier and Patterson also seems not to be fully healthy. This week should be much easier sledding against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to running backs this week and just allowed nice games to both Leonard Fournette and Rachaad White in the same game. Allgeier should be one of the better Week 17 Stream Team options for fantasy managers in need of a running back.

Honorable Mentions – Zack Moss (IND – 44%) @ NYG, Chuba Hubbard (CAR – 38%) @ TB

Wide Receiver – Jahan Dotson (WAS – 23%) v CLE

Speaking of rookies ending their season on a high note, Jahan Dotson is turning it up at the right time for fantasy managers. He’s now scored at least 16 fantasy points in three straight games. Dotson has scored a touchdown in all three of those games. It hasn’t all been touchdown-dependent though as he’s seen 24 targets in this three-game span. Dotson has also caught at least four passes and had at least 54 receiving yards in all three games as well. He’s showing why the Washington Commanders used their first-round pick in this past draft to select him. This week he gets to face the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are easier to beat on the ground than through the air but are also not a matchup to avoid either. They are allowing about the same amount of fantasy points to wide receivers as the New York Giants, the team Dotson has beaten up twice in this three-game span. Dotson is definitely one of the best Week 16 Stream Team options across any position.

Honorable Mentions – Isaiah Hodgins (NYG – 2%) v IND, Richie James (NYG – 17%) v IND

Tight End – Tyler Conklin (NYJ – 27%) @ SEA

The tight end position doesn’t look too great this week, but then again it hasn’t looked too great all year. One of the better Week 17 Stream Team options looks like Tyler Conklin. Conklin has disappointed the past two weeks in good matchups but the blame should really fall on Zach Wilson for those. Mike White is back this week for the New York Jets so this could be a great spot for Conklin to turn in a great game. This week he gets a juicy matchup against the Seahawks. They have allowed the second-most fantasy points to tight ends in 2022. Sometimes it’s tough to rely on tight end-specific defensive metrics, but this team is very bad against tight ends. As long as White plays how he has been, Conklin should be able to find some success against this defense.

Honorable Mentions – Jordan Akins (HOU – 1%) v JAX, Greg Dulcich (DEN – 50%) @ KC
