Rasul Douglas, Green Bay Packers, Agree to Contract
With the 99th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Douglas out of the University of West Virginia. After competing with the likes of Patrick Robinson, Ronald Darby, and other veterans in camp, head coach Doug Pederson named Douglas the fourth cornerback on the roster. Douglas played 14 games in his rookie season, starting five of them. In that time, he recorded 25 tackles, two interceptions, and 11 pass deflections. Douglas helped the Eagles beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII by a score of 41-33.
In his sophomore season, Douglas played in 16 games, starting seven. He recorded 58 tackles, six tackles for a loss, three interceptions, and four pass deflections. In coverage, Douglas allowed 53 receptions on 76 targets, a completion percentage of 69.7, 678 yards, four touchdowns, and a 98.5 passer rating. He played 52 percent of the defensive snaps.
The following season, Douglas played in 16 games, starting six. He recorded 35 tackles, three tackles for a loss, zero interceptions, and four pass deflections. He played 57 percent of the defensive snaps. In coverage, Douglas allowed 41 receptions on 72 targets, a completion percentage of 56.9, 637 yards, six touchdowns, and a 114.2 passer rating. He played 57 percent of the defensive snaps.
The Eagles released Douglas after training camp in 2020. On September 6th, he was claimed off of waivers by the Carolina Panthers. He played in 14 games for the Panthers, starting 11. Douglas recorded 62 tackles, one tackle for a loss, and nine pass deflections. In coverage, Douglas allowed 62 receptions on 98 targets, a completion percentage of 63.3, 783 yards, six touchdowns, and a 108.5 passer rating. He played 89 percent of the defensive snaps.
Before sticking with the Green Bay Packers for most of the 2021 season, Douglas spent some time with the Las Vegas Raiders, Houston Texans, and Arizona Cardinals. He played in 12 games for the Packers, starting 9. Douglas recorded 57 tackles, one tackle for a loss, five interceptions, one forced fumble, and 13 pass deflections. In coverage, Douglas allowed 32 receptions on 64 targets, a completion percentage of 50, 351 yards, two touchdowns, and a 44.5 passer rating. He played 89 percent of the defensive snaps.
