NFL Week 8 Survivor League Top Picks

NFL Week 8 survivor league top picks. With Week 7 in the books it is time to figure out the best bets for survivor/knockout leagues this week

After a close Monday Night Football game to close out Week 7 it is time to look at the upcoming Week 8 action. The Las Vegas Raiders and Baltimore Ravens are the only two teams on a bye this week. Here are some NFL Week 8 survivor league picks.

Top Picks for NFL Week 8 Survivor League

Buffalo Bills Versus Miami Dolphins

The Buffalo Bills are 4-2 and are one of the best teams in the AFC. The Miami Dolphins are 1-6 and have lost six straight games, including back-to-back losses to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons. In Week 2 the Bills trounced the Dolphins 35-0 in Miami. This time the game is in Buffalo and the Bills are coming off a bye.

Buffalo’s offense ranks second in points per game (33.8) while Miami’s ranks 29th (18.1). Only the New York Jets, Houston Texans, and Chicago Bears have scored fewer points. On the defensive side of the ball, it gets even worse for the Dolphins. Miami’s defense ranks last in the NFL (allowing 29.6 points per game) and Buffalo’s defense ranks first in the NFL (allowing 16.3 points per game).

The Bills are only 13.5-point favorites and that seems like a small number. While the Bills might not win 35-0 again, they will win really easily. Bet on Buffalo and give the points and take them in a survivor league.

Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets

The Cincinnati Bengals (5-2) are leading the AFC North and would be the top seed in the AFC if the playoffs started today. They are coming off of a big road win over the Ravens. The Jets are 1-5, which includes two big losses to the New England Patriots, a shutout at the hands of the Denver Broncos, and a loss to the Atlanta Falcons. None of those teams are going to make the playoffs this season.

The Bengals look like a complete team and the Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase connection is one of, if not the best in the NFL. The Jets have not even scored a single point in the first quarter of any game this season and they have only led for a total of 15 minutes in 2021. They will also be without their starting quarterback, Zach Wilson, who will miss 2-4 weeks with a knee injury. While Wilson hasn’t been lighting it up during his rookie season, having Mike White under center will not make things better for the Jets this week. Take the Bengals in survivor and feel confident about that pick.

Los Angeles Rams at Houston Texans

The Los Angeles Rams are 6-1 and their only loss is to the undefeated Arizona Cardinals. The Texans are 1-6 and reside in last place in the AFC South, which is a weak division. Their only win came against the Jaguars and that is not impressive. The Rams offense ranks fifth in the NFL with 29.6 points per game. The Texans offense is scoring 13.9 points per game; only the Jets offense is scoring fewer.

It is possible that Houston’s starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor could return to action this week. With Deshaun Watson not playing due to his off-field issues, Taylor has been the team’s starting quarterback. But he has been sidelined with an injury since Week 2. While Taylor is certainly better and provides more upside (and probably fewer turnovers) than Davis Mills, who has been playing in place of Taylor, even if Taylor is cleared to play, his return will not be nearly enough for the Texans to get their second win of the season.

If the Bills, Bengals, and Rams are not available, taking the Los Angeles Chargers at home over the New England Patriots or Kansas City Chiefs at home over the New York Giants could be other good survivor choices this week.
