There is confirmation from jail records that Lattimore was booked into Cuyahoga County Jail. Jail records also say Lattimore was arrested at 10:30 pm on Thursday by Cleveland police’s gang investigators. However, Lattimore has yet to be formally charged by the police and full details of the arrest have yet to be released.

As well as a legal investigation into the case, the Saints franchise and NFL will likely carry out their own formal investigation of the matter. The league has been strict in recent years on players who breach the standards upheld by the NFL’s personal conduct policy. If found guilty of the alleged charges, Lattimore will almost certainly also receive a suspension from the league.

Lattimore is a three-time pro bowler for New Orleans. He caught two interceptions during the 2020 season as the Saints reached the Divisional Round of the playoffs before losing to eventual Super Bowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Lattimore has 10 career interceptions and a defensive rookie of the year honor to his name. The cornerback was expected to receive a massive contract extension in the near future. His fifth-year option for 2021 is worth a guaranteed salary of over $16 million. Lattimore and fellow first-round pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, tackle Ryan Ramczyk, are supposed to be key pieces for the New Orleans roster moving forward.

In 2017, the Saints drafted Lattimore 11th overall in the first round. He was also the first cornerback taken in the draft. In college, Lattimore was a star cornerback for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He earned first-team All-Big 10 honors in 2016 and was part of the Buckeyes national championship team in 2014.  Born in Cleveland, Lattimore attended Glennville High School before committing in-state to the Buckeyes.
