Janoris Jenkins Signs Contract With Tennessee Titans

NFL cornerback Janoris Jenkins is signing a contract with the Tennessee Titans. Jenkins spent the 2020 season with the New Orleans Saints.

Janoris Jenkins was born on October 29, 1988, in Pahokee, Florida. Jenkins was drafted 39th overall in the 2012 NFL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Rams. The Rams signed Jenkins to a four-year contract worth $4.99 million. The New York Giants signed Jenkins to a five-year contract worth $62,5 million on March 9th, 2016. The Giants waived Jenkins on December 13, 2019, for using a slur on Twitter. The Saints claimed Jenkins on December 16th. Jenkins signed an extension with the Saints on March 23rd, 2020, for two years and $16.75 million. The Saints released Jenkins on March 11th, 2021.

During the 2020-21 season in 13 games, Jenkins completed 44 solo and 11 assisted tackles. Additionally, Jenkins completed three interceptions for 53 yards with one touchdown as well as defending 12 passes. In two playoff games, Jenkins completed eight solo and one assisted tackle with one pass defended. The Saints would lose to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Divisional Playoffs 30-20.

During the 2019-20 season in 15 games, Jenkins completed 50 solo and 11 assisted tackles. Additionally, Jenkins completed five interceptions for 84 yards with 16 passes defended. In one playoff game, Jenkins completed three solo and five assisted tackles with one quarterback hit and forced fumble. The Saints would lose to the Minnesota Vikings, in overtime, in the NFC Wildcard Playoffs 26-20.

During the 2018-19 season in 16 games, Jenkins completed 59 solo and 11 assisted tackles with two interceptions for 29 yards. Additionally, Jenkins also had one forced fumble and defended 15 passes. During the 2017-18 season in nine games, Jenkins completed 27 solo and four assisted tackles with nine defended passes. Additionally, Jenkins completed three interceptions of 113 yards for two touchdowns and forced one fumble. Jenkins was suspended by the Giants one game for being late returning from the bye week. Jenkins’s had season-ending ankle surgery and was placed on injured reserve.
