Roy Robertson-Harris Signs With Jacksonville Jaguars

NFL defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris will be signing a three-year, $24.4 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Robertson-Harris spent the 2020 season with the Chicago Bears.

The Bears placed a second-round free agent tender on Harris for one year, $3,259,000. Harris; subsequently, signed on April 15, 2020. During the 2020-21 season, Harris completed five quarterback hits, seven solo tackles, and three assists on tackles in eight games. Harris started six of the eight games. Harris; however, underwent season-ending shoulder surgery on November 11.

Harris was signed by the Bears as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2016. Harris; however, spent the entire season on the illness/non-football injury reserve list. During the 2017-18 season, Harris completed four quarterback hits, eight solo tackles, and five assists on tackles in 13 games. Harris; moreover, had a punt return for seven yards as well. Harris suffered a hamstring injury during week 9; consequently, missing three games. Harris during the 2018-19 season; subsequently, had 11 quarterback hits, 10 solo tackles, and 12 assists on tackles in 16 games. Harris; moreover, had three tackles for a loss of yardage. During the 2019-2020 season, Harris played in 15 games and had 10 quarterback hits, 22 solo tackles, and eight assists on tackles. Harris started seven of the 15 games. In week 14; however, Harris suffered a foot sprain, missing one game.

Harris played four seasons of college football at the University of Texas at El Paso for the UTEP Miners. During the senior year 2015, Harris had 27 solo tackles, 24 assists on tackles, and seven and a half tackles for loss in 12 games played. Harris was named team captain. Harris; formerly, during the 2014 season had 16 solo tackles, 16 assists on tackles, and seven and a half tackles for loss in 11 games played. During 2013, Harris had 12 solo tackles, 22 assists on tackles, and six tackles for loss in 12 games played. Harris, during the 2012 college season; subsequently, had three solo tackles, 14 assists on tackles, and two tackles for loss.
