Robinson was drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. After signing a four-year $2.85 million contract, he was poised to compete for playing time as a back-up receiver among a crowded group. His rookie season was an opportunity for him to learn behind veterans like Jeremy Maclin along with upcoming superstar rookie, Tyreek Hill. Robinson appeared in 16 games during his rookie season, mainly on special teams, and he did not record a catch.

After his rookie season, changes were made on the wide receiver corps and Robinson found himself in another battle for playing time. 2017 brought more opportunities for Robinson to fill holes in the offense as he posted 21 receptions for 212 yards. He also was able to snare his first career touchdown in a playoff loss to the Tennessee Titans. Robinson was poised for a breakout year in 2018.

2018 would prove to be a year of records for the Kansas City Chiefs offensively. With second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes, passes were being thrown all over the field. The offense was lethal and full of weapons at several positions. However, there is only one football to spread around. And Robinson was able to contribute minimally with four touchdowns on 22 receptions.

During the 2019 regular season, Robinson saw more action than previous years and did an admirable job making the most of his opportunities. Robinson amassed 32 catches for 449 yards with four scores. The bulk of his statistics came early in the season with Hill sidelined with an injury. This included a career game in week two in Oakland (six receptions for 172 yards and two scores). The final year of Robinson’s rookie deal concluded with a Super Bowl LIV victory on February 2, 2020 over the San Francisco 49ers.
