Sean Lee Re-Signs With Dallas Cowboys

Sean Lee’s athletic background is stellar. In high school, Lee played football and basketball. Lee attended college at Penn State and focused on football. He played safety in high school but moved to linebacker in college. He received a starting chance his sophomore year. Lee quickly became a well-respected individual among his teammates and was voted team captain even while injured for the season. He did not let his injury keep him from the game. Lee has shown resilience and a passion for the game that only a true leader can establish.

His entrance into the draft was inevitable. The Dallas Cowboys picked Lee in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. In his first season, he received the NFL Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Week 14 against the Indianapolis Colts. It was in that game that Lee picked off Peyton Manning twice. Lee started to flourish in his second year. He received the starting role as inside linebacker and showed the Dallas Cowboys why he was a good selection. By Week 7, Sean Lee was leading the defense in interceptions and tackles. He continued his dominance into 2012, leading the team with 131 tackles.

In 2016, when Dak Prescott was named starting quarterback due to Tony Romo’s preseason injury, Lee continued to lead the other side of the ball, recording 145 tackles.

At 33, Lee is still looking to finish his NFL career on a high note.  We can expect another solid year from the veteran, as he hasn’t shown signs of stopping just yet.
