Jack Conklin Signs With Cleveland Browns

Jack Conklin is officially off the open market. The former first-round pick spent the 2019 season with the Tennessee Titans.

Four-year NFL offensive tackle, Jack Conklin, has signed a three-year, $42 million contract with the Cleveland Browns. The deal carries with it $30 million in guarantees and keeps him with the organization until 2022. Conklin spent the last four seasons with the Tennessee Titans.

Conklin spent the 2019 season with the Tennessee Titans as the team’s premier offensive tackle. Conklin started all 16 games this past season, accumulating 933 snaps on offense which was good for 94% on the year. He also compiled four holding penalties, three false starts, and one offsides penalty. Conklin only allowed three sacks and accumulated 49 total yards in penalties.

Conklin initially entered the league in 2016 as the 8th overall pick of the first round. Selected by the Tennessee Titans, Conklin started in all 16 games and earned a First-Team All-Pro selection. Conklin accounted for three penalties his rookie season, two of which were false starts. Additionally, Conklin allowed just one sack and accounted for 15 yards in penalties.

2018 is the only season Conklin did not start all 16 games. He started just nine games in 2018, allowing five sacks and accounting for 28 yards in penalties. Additionally, Conklin was responsible for one false start and one holding call.

In total, Conklin spent four seasons with the Tennessee Titans. During his time there, the first-round offensive tackle started in 57 games and allowed just 10.5 sacks. Additionally, Conklin compiled 19 penalties for 154 yards.

Conklin has appeared in five playoff games, starting every single one of them. In his five career playoff starts, Conklin has allowed zero sacks. Conklin has also accounted for zero total penalties in the playoffs. Conklin started in two playoff games in 2017 and three in 2019.

In May of 2019, the Titans declined Conklin’s fifth-year option. Conklin also sustained a knee injury during a late season contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars which required a brief stint on the injured reserve.
