Robert Quinn Self-Admitted to Hospital To Undergo Tests

Los Angeles Rams star defensive end Robert Quinn admitted himself into a Southland area hospital this morning to undergo some testing.

Los Angeles Rams defensive end Robert Quinn admitted himself to a hospital this morning for some medical tests upon the team’s return flight back to LA after yesterday’s 9-6 National Football League victory over the New York Jets at the New Jersey Meadowlands.

Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher said in a Monday evening press conference that the illness is not related to football and that he has spoken to Quinn this afternoon and the prognosis is good. Fisher mentioned that Quinn was feeling much better later in the day and also stated that the Rams speedy lineman may still be available for next Sunday’s game against the visiting Miami Dolphins although it is too soon to tell yet how the week plays out for Quinn.  “Things look encouraging,” Fisher said in his conference with the media at Rams headquarters.

Of note as well, Fisher had a good discussion with Quinn on the postgame bus ride to the airport yesterday.  “He was fine after the game. He sat behind me on the bus, had a long bus ride back from the airport. We shared thoughts on the game” the Rams coach said.

Quinn does have some medical history behind him. The 26-year-old former standout at the University of North Carolina is coming off back surgery at end of last season and also has a benign tumor near the base of his brain. That was discovered back in 2007 and doctors have chosen to not remove the tumor. Quinn is tested twice yearly regarding this concern.

The 6’4, 265 lb six-year veteran, all with the Rams, is having a sub-par season in comparison to his usual solid numbers. Quinn has 2 sacks, 8 solo tackles and 2 forced fumbles as the Rams gear up for a second-half run at a playoff position. Having Quinn back in the lineup and healthy would certainly be of great importance in that endeavor.
