Dallas Re-Signs Denis Gurianov
Over his three-year NHL career, Gurianov played most of his game this past season. Drafted by the Stars in the first round, 12th overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He has played every season with the Stars. During the span of 86 games, he has recorded 21 goals and 12 assists for 33 points
What This Means for the Future
Before the 2019-20 season, Gurianov hadn’t played more than 21 games in two seasons. In those games, he scored four points, one goal and four assists. Up until this point, there was not much to get excited about when you heard Gurianov’s name. With that being said, Denis Gurianov had a breakout season with the Stars during the 2019-20 season. Proving to everyone he has an eye for the back of the net. Gurianov not only lit the lamp during the regular season. Once the playoffs started he was lights out, as well.
In the midst of one of the most difficult Stanley Cup playoffs ever. Gurianov was a huge part of Dallas’s offence in their run for the cup. In his first Stanley Cup playoff ever, he finished sixth on the team in points. Scoring nine goals and eight assists for 17 points in 27 games played. Gurianov was noticeable all over the ice in these playoffs. He also finished third on the team in Corsi for 51.3 percent. Showing off how much of a threat on the ice he is.
Needless to say, the Dallas Stars have a bright future with a young core that is extremely talented. This is only the beginning of what’s to come in Texas.
