Have you ever looked at a sports photo and thought of a funny caption? We have, and here’s a collection of some. If you enjoy this one, leave us a comment afterward. We will do a series called NHL Comic Captions by team collecting some photos with humorous captions to entertain you during this suspension in play… and perhaps cheer you up a bit. Today we cover the New York Rangers comic captions for the 2019-20 season.
New York Rangers Comic Captions for 2019-20
Artemi Panarin
Artemi Panarin hit Broadway like a hit musical and has not turned back. He made his worth known when he signed as a free agent for the Rangers in July of last year. He pocketed a tremendous $81.5 million contract for seven years. And… he’s worth every penny of it. This season he again showed why he’s a premier player in the NHL. He collected 32 goals and 63 assists for 95 points in 69 games. Had the season finished out, he was a shoe-in to gather 100 points or more.
We all know that Panarin can score, but he’s quite a playmaker as displayed by his 1.06 assists per game in his career. He’s also deadly on the power play with 37 lifetime tallies along with 67 assists. Give him the puck and things will happen. His Corsi For shows he can control the play with a 54.4 percentage and his Relative Corsi is great too with a 6.5 percent. He has fit right into the Rangers team and he’s right where the action is every game.
Panarin has all the tools to lead the Rangers to success. We will see his skills on display when the Rangers take on the Carolina Hurricanes in the play-in series. Here’s a newsflash Carolina — if you can’t contain Panarin you may not stand a chance in the series. He’s that good.

“Look J.T. I know you’re insecure, but I refuse to be your teddy bear.”

Mika Zibanejad
Mika Zibanejad had one terrific season. He scored 41 goals and 34 assists for 75 points in 57 games. You don’t want to face him on the powerplay since he had 15 goals along with 12 assists. When Zibanejad shoots he rarely is off target with his amazing 19.7 percent shooting percentage. If you’re trying to defend against him it’s best to not allow him to get the puck on his stick, since he knows exactly what to do with it.
On March 5th Zibanejad scored five goals against the Washington Capitals. He was so hot as the season was closing down that he had 16 goals from February 19th to March 11th. Between him and Panarin it’s tough to defend against the Rangers.
The key to the Rangers series against the Hurricanes will be can the ‘Canes contain Panarin AND Zibanejad? If not the Rangers may be moving on.

“Hey Erik, I don’t know how to say this, but your underarm deodorant is just not working.”

Anthony DeAngelo
Anthony DeAngelo has really blossomed this season. His point production took off from just 30 points last season to 53 this season. The Rangers must decide about re-signing the former Arizona Coyotes defenceman since he only inked a one-year deal worth $925,000 right before the season began. He has seemed to have matured, although he still has a short fuse about dropping the gloves. It’s just his tough style of play and if he does it at the correct opportune times he’ll be fine.
He was assessed only 47 penalty minutes this season as opposed to 77 last season. If he can refrain from taking too many unnecessary penalties, he can contribute. More than likely he deserves a new contract before the next season begins. His play has improved quite well and he has found his niche with some offensive bursts.

“Jumbo Joe, how am I going to grab you by that forest of a beard if you’re blocking my vision?”
