Today we cover the St Louis Blues comic captions for the 2019-20 season.
Comic Captions for 2019-20 St Louis Blues
Alex Pietrangelo
Alex Pietrangelo is a rugged 6′-3″, 210 pound defenceman who has been in the St. Louis Blues organization his entire 12-year NHL career. He was drafted fourth overall in the 2008 Entry Draft and has performed admirably over his time with the Blues.
Over his NHL career, Pietrangelo has collected 109 goals and 341 assists for 450 points in 758 games. He’s a force on the power play, adding 116 assists on that unit.
Everyone is on pins and needles wondering what the big guy will do at the end of this season. Will he re-sign (more than likely) with the Blues, or take his game elsewhere? He is currently earning $6.5 million AAV on his seven-year $45.5 million deal he inked in September of 2013.
The Blues are projected to have just $2 million in cap space if the cap ceiling doesn’t rise to the $84 million level and stays at the current $81.5 million number. So, where do they get the money to sign Pietrangelo? And for how much? Some serious questions for general manager Doug Armstrong. Losing Vince Dunn may be one method of creating cap space enough to retain Pietrangelo, although he’s coming off his entry-level contract and won’t demand a fortune.
Something needs to happen if the Blues want to keep their rock on the blueline. Armstrong will figure it out. That’s why he gets the big bucks.

Jordan Binnington
Jordan Binnington came onto the scene in a big way during his first full season in St. Louis. He impressed heavily with an amazing 24-5-1 record during the 2018-19 campaign. Even more impressive was his .927 save percentage and a league-leading 1.89 goals-against-average.
The 88th overall selection by the Blues in the 2011 draft finally paid off. And, with his excellent play he was awarded a two-year contract worth $8.8 million in July of 2019. While his statistics have dropped off from his rookie year, during the 2019-20 season he has still accumulated a 30-13-7 record. His save percentage has been .912 and his goals-against-average went to 2.56.
He remains the cog in the wheel that shapes the Blues into a winner. The team is anxious to show everyone they can win back-to-back Stanley Cups and Binnington is an integral part of that goal. He always plays intelligent positionally and breaks the angles down with the best of them.
Binnington’s biggest asset is his cool, calm composure in between the pipes. He rarely gets rattled and for a young player that’s a good quality.
If play continues, and it seems that it more than likely it will, the Blues will be right in the thick of it and Binnington will lead the way.

Jordan Binnington, goalie – St. Louis Blues
David Perron
David Perron has played for five NHL teams and has left and come back to St. Louis on three different occasions. His statistics while with the Blues shows 550 games with 150 goals and 200 assists good for 350 points. He is an accurate shooter gathering a 14.3 percent shooting percentage.
Perron is always around the puck as evidenced by his 282 takeaways as opposed to his 161 giveaways. Don’t forget he adds some physicality to his game showing 513 hits.
It just seemed inevitable that Perron would end up back in St. Louis and the Blues are glad he did. He tallied 25 goals, 35 assists during the suspended 2019-20 season and that is some quality scoring the team can use. He was second in scoring on the team behind Ryan O’Reilly but by just one point.
When Perron is on his game, the St. Louis Blues seem hard to stop. He has excellent possession numbers with a 52.5 Corsi For and a 2.4 Relative Corsi.
Perron is a winner, and he has nine game-winning goals this season to prove it.
